One of the earliest to become known was Yoriichi Tsugikuni, in the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" series. The Between the fourteen swordsmen and his own ability, even among them he was unmatched I think he therefore stands out as a character. It is great difficulty to reproduce his Sun Breathing Technique. He is in charge of the technique's original form. It is this form that later serves as a model for all other breathing techniques used by Demon Slayers. A historical figure, Yoriichi Tsugikuni, hundreds of years before the main timeline of the story, seems to have fundamentally changed it.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni from 'Demon Slayer' was around 85 when he passed away. Despite his age, he was an incredibly powerful demon slayer.

Although the series never clearly tells us that Yoriichi Tsugikuni and Tanjiro are of a direct relation, there are numerous clues indicating they may be related by blood. At the point in time that the series takes place, Yoriichi is a major historical figure who lived centuries before Tanjiro lived. The Sun Breathing technique, which Tanjiro uses for his fighting style was developed by him, originally from China' Ma Long.'In addition to this, Yoriichi's earrings look extremely similar to Tanjiro's. It also suggests a family tie between them.

Old loyal to "Demon": one fact, Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Tsugikuni Yoriichi, one of the series's most path-forging figures. After achieving such a grand battle record, it was a great pity that his life could not end in some pinnacle showdown.
However, he chose to mix together two known woods and in consequence form a new slipper, evidenced by the shoes he liked to wear- which were of oak and persimmon bark. He is as indulgent as he was tough for such a pitch to carry out. Mow him regularly has become second nature to the scion of a good family but that is not all this household habit entails.
His wisdom was deep, and his life was long. The end of it brought a great heartache to those who had known him. All of a sudden they would grow up, then pass away: this is really hard for people to imagine.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni is hands down the most overpowered character in 'Demon Slayer,' and I don’t say that lightly. The dude’s strength isn’t just about raw power—it’s his mastery of the Sun Breathing technique, which is the original form of all other breathing styles. He’s so fast that even Muzan, the progenitor of demons, couldn’t perceive his movements during their fight. That’s insane! And let’s not forget his transparent world ability, which lets him see through his opponents’ muscles and predict their attacks.
What really cements his legacy, though, is how he nearly solo’d Muzan in their first encounter. If not for Muzan’s sheer luck (and cowardice), the series might’ve ended right there. Even centuries later, his influence lingers—Tanjiro’s dance is basically a watered-down version of Yoriichi’s forms. The fact that a mere doll modeled after him can train the current generation of slayers speaks volumes. Absolute legend.

Bingo learned a lot from Demon Slayer! Yeah,Yoriichi Tsugikuni and Tanjiro Kamado are in fact connected. Tanjiro is considered a distant ancestor of Yoriichi. Amazingly both of these exceptional male figures have a unique birthmark which looks like a 'flame' as it runs across their foreheads; the sign has come from generation to generation. It denotes the creator's place as original practitioner of 'Sun Breathing' (Yoriichi). TAnjiro gets mark, breath style and begins his line up the ladder from there.,

This is really hard to guess! I hope the official will release some setting collections to help us understand them more vividly. We can only speculate that Muichiro's height is similar to the average height of teenagers in the show.

Of course! Or in person of ninja Slayer Tanjiro Kamado seemed to have somethi ng to do with Yoriichi Tsugikuni. No, they weren't brothers, but they were united by blood, a connection that stretched down from ages past. Turned out that the legendary user of the sun-style breath was a distant ancestor of Tanjiro's.
And here's the kicker-Tanjiro's signature Hanafuda earrings are not only a keepsake from his own ancestor but also Yoriichi 's parting gift to him! This bloodline business shifts the whole plot into high gear, and hands Tanjiro a real chance to root out the demons.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni is often hailed as the pinnacle of strength in 'Demon Slayer,' and for good reason. His feats are legendary—single-handedly pushing Muzan Kibutsuji to the brink of annihilation, creating the Sun Breathing style that became the foundation for all other forms, and even his mere presence terrified demons centuries after his death. What fascinates me isn’t just his power, but how the narrative frames him as almost mythical. The way other characters speak of him with reverence, like he’s this untouchable force of nature, adds layers to his legacy.
Yet, I can’t help but wonder if his strength is also a narrative device to highlight the theme of human potential. Tanjiro and others strive to reach his level, but Yoriichi’s loneliness and the tragedy of his brother’s fall remind us that power isn’t everything. The series subtly asks whether being 'the strongest' is a blessing or a curse. That duality makes him endlessly compelling to me.

Gyomei Himejima's towering height is one of the first things that struck me about his character in 'Demon Slayer.' Standing at a staggering 220 cm (roughly 7'3"), he’s not just the tallest Hashira—he’s practically a giant compared to the rest of the cast. What’s fascinating is how his physical presence mirrors his role as the Stone Hashira. His strength and resilience are almost mythic, and that height makes his combat style feel even more impactful. When he swings those massive axes, you can almost feel the ground shake.
I love how the anime uses his size to emphasize his gentle nature, too. Despite being this hulking figure, Gyomei’s compassion and quiet wisdom make him one of the most emotionally complex characters. The contrast between his intimidating exterior and his soft-spoken demeanor is such a clever touch. It’s no wonder he’s a fan favorite—how many characters can make you feel both awed and comforted at the same time?
