It’s really hard not to laugh when Bai Ke, China’s favorite bad boy, plays the rich and snooty boy who finds out that being rich doesn’t necessarily mean you’re happy in ‘Too Late Mr. Billionaire’. Xu Jiao is wonderful in the movie as Bai Ke’s pragmatism-meets-love opposite. The rest of the cast, such as Kong Lianshun who plays Xu Jiao’s eccentric and playful dad, are lots of fun too. This is a light-hearted romantic comedy and its best feature is the energetic performances from all the leads. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted romantic movie, then ‘Too Late Mr. Billionaire’ is for you!

If you haven't already checked it out, Radish is an app specializing in serialized romance stories, including many very popular Korean webnovels. I don't currently have this one translated on the site, but the list is continually updated with the newest titles added by creators. Typically Radish is a free read with a timer between chapters that can be read in full immediately with the purchase of coins.
It’s far more solid than reading the novel on some free website peppered with ads. The translations are high quality, the formatting is great for reading on mobile, and I can browse their Second Chance Romance or Time Travel categories to see if this has been added under an alternate title.

Has anyone checked to see if this is published on Webnovel? They have tons of original English romances as well as translated works. And they have a coin system similar to the Radish app. I’m not sure if this exact book is published on there but it’s worth a look. The Webnovel app is another big name in the world of serial fiction, with a gamified interface and daily quests and check-ins that grant the reader points.
Often when novels are ‘serialized’, they are placed under a category of ‘Romance’ or ‘Modern Romance’ but often enough are tagged as the specific title of the work. Sometimes even licensed works have slightly different titles so I would suggest searching for “Billionaires Match” or simply “Billionaire” to scroll through the results of each platform. Of the above listed platforms, Webnovel, Radish, Galatea and GoodNovel are the main options and I’m quite certain that one of them will carry the novel in question, all of the above platforms have a very similar business model, so choose the platform you currently use most or simply the one you prefer aesthetically.

Library Genesis (libgen.is) occasionally carries really off the wall romantic novels such as this. You might also be able to find it on Amazon in Kindle Unlimited under a slightly different title. The ‘contract marriage’ and ‘secret twin’ are sort of genre tropes and fairly frequent. I’ve had a few fan translators DM me on Twitter to share private drive links to their translations of these sort of novels. (I don’t recommend, however. It’s sort of like treasure hunting – rarely worth the trouble.)

I am trying to determine what differentiates this story from others of a similar nature (Married to a Stranger, The CEO’s Contract Wife, etc.). As written, they all sound like one story to me, so I am curious to know if there is some unique twist, scene or character development that makes this Mr. Bradford story different from the others. Is the heroine particularly smart or resourceful? Is the male lead’s redemption particularly satisfying? Sometimes it is the very smallest of details in a story that makes all the difference in terms of how engaging it is to read.

I need an epilogue. I need to see them happy long after the story has ended. Sure, they can fall in love, but that doesn’t mean they’ll stay that way. So, I need to see them five or ten years after the fact. Still disgustingly in love, probably with a child who is a combination of both of them. They’ve built a life together. He’s not so consumed by work anymore. She’s doing incredibly well for herself. Seeing this future is key to understanding that even though they started out strangely, they are meant to be. This is the key to ‘happily ever after’.

The ending is so typical for a billionaire romance novel. Secrets are revealed, wounds are healed, and the couple drives off into the sunset. The female lead’s anger will be replaced with an understanding of the hero’s reasons for keeping her in the dark. He was probably trying to protect her from other gold-diggers or from his crazy family members. There’s often a grand finale of sorts – a public declaration of love, the launch of a charity in the heroine’s name, or even a surprise wedding redo with all the trimmings. We read the last chapters with smiles on our faces, knowing that they live happily ever after. And we might even get a glimpse of the heroines’ friends in future novels, just as dramatic and flawed as the main couple.

This is the ethical journey of Leo, a nice guy but not necessarily someone who’s done the right thing. He has to divest himself of material possessions and make amends in some way. The ending of the book is part of his process of reparations, i.e., of making amends. He’s not just donating to charity, he’s transferring power. The shares he’s transferring are shares in a corporation and they represent voting stock or a seat at the table. This is a very political thing for Leo to do and it’s part of his journey as a person. His love for Elena is intertwined with the amends he is trying to make to her and her family for the way in which his family’s wealth may have affected them. It’s deep for a romance novel.

Someone identify the movie? This thread could become a decent resource on specific titles, having a known peculiarity, eg being only available on the German Amazon Prime or even the uncut version only being included on a special edition Spanish Blu-ray. As a horror aficionado, I’m aware of where to find uncut versions of the 80s slashers. The French extremity films and classic old Hollywood noirs will likely have their own specialists. Sharing one’s knowledge is how we get around these types of restrictions.

Do you think these billionaires ever use their billions of dollars to go to therapy? That would solve about 90% of the problems in these stories.
