Binge. Yes. I get that waiting for part two of the episodes is somewhat awful right now. But I understand their model for part one was to drop them all at once. Hence, I assume they will follow the same model for part two. We aren’t signing up for eight weeks of suspenseful wait for each episode. We are signing up for a very long wait and then a great big binge. I’m okay with that. And in the meantime, the amazing world of Outlander fan-made creations (art, meta-analysis, music etc.) is vast and will hold my attention until the next episode. Much of it is even sensitive enough that it won’t spoil anything for new viewers when the next part is released.

However, to sate my cravings in the meantime, I’ve found that the official ‘Outlander’ social media accounts (global) are safe to engage with, should you stick to behind-the-scenes shots and posts marking the birthdays of main characters. I kind of enjoy the anticipation of a show. As it is released on Binge, I can plan to have a viewing session or weekend to watch it all, get some snack, tell my friends and family that I am unavailable and then just dive into the show. The way Starz release it weekly with lots of cliffhangers sounds really stressful. But our way of releasing episodes in a batch, we give the audience the full emotional arc of the show and it becomes an event instead of just another appointment that you have to keep to every week.
