Perer Ford: Diary of a Stranger
"It has been a long fairly self-sufficient journey, Henry, and I wasn't sure I was going to last with this book considering my level of education, knowledge of words and sentence construction. To be honest, I have thought of throwing this book away and not completing it but I can't because it is my life's work. I find myself telling stories on days when I have nothing to write about and I am not sure if the stories I tell are amazing stories or just a piece of shit that people are going to struggle to read. But, my entire life's work lies in what I am writing. I know it doesn't sound decent for me to call it my life work since I have been writing it in less than a year but I have to admit, I have lived more in these past few months than in my entire life. I hope you understand that I don't consider myself as a writer or an author. So, when I meet the woman you want me to meet, I want to meet her with the mindset that she is aware I am a nobody. A writer who uses 'but' and 'and' way too much in his book."
I stopped for a short moment, as I considered whether I should continue talking
while I let Henry do the listening.
"I want my book to be about the diary of a stranger," I continued when I noticed Henry was not going to stop me from talking. "I choose that name because it echoes who I am to the public. Who am I? I am a kid who is tired of living the kind of life he is living and yet feels comfortable in the way he is living. Who am I? I am a kid who hates God, says he hates God, doesn't hates God, says he hates Christianity, doesn't hates Christianity. Who am I, Henry? I am a confused being who doesn't know what he wants in life. I have tried thinking about my life with the hope I would find something in the end. Still, I get nothing every time I look. I am tired of saying everything is alright when it is not alright. So, if you want to know the kind of book, memoir or diary I am writing, you have to read it to the very end."
