The Luna Queen's Blood Oath
Birdy Edwards
Evelyn’s voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper, “Your life, your leadership, it’s too valuable to risk in this final, brutal sweep. Don't be rash. Be wise.”
Daisy’s lips curled back in a vicious snarl, her eyes, though still burning with fury, held a flicker of cold defiance.
“Retreat? And miss the grand finale? Never.” Her voice, a guttural growl that resonated with primal force, cut through the battle's roar. “My place is here, Evelyn. Always. And I will not cede this final, glorious act to anyone. Not to my soldiers, and certainly not to you. This is my vengeance. This is my war. And Layla… Layla is mine.” Her gaze swept over the shattered remnants of Bloodwood’s defenses, then narrowed on Evelyn. “I will fight until I stand before her, until I can look into her eyes as I tear the very life from her miserable body. She took everything from me. My family, my future, my very identity. My parents perished because of her schemes, her negligence. She stole my life, and I will be the one, and only one, who takes
hers. I will tear her apart piece by piece until every drop of her blood is spilled for what she did. And then, only then, will my vengeance be complete. I will not be denied this satisfaction. Not for strategy, not for power, not for anything.”
