Guardians of the Stones. Earth-Air
And suddenly, without saying anything more, the man rushed forward and pushed her hard with both hands.
Kate felt the hard ground disappear beneath her feet. She fell. Somewhere in the sky, the eagle screamed again. She felt a fierce hand embrace her frail body and the wind whip her back.
Kate opened her eyes. A second later, she realised she was hanging in mid-air. Before she knew what was happening, she fell down and landed into the soft bedding. Lying on her bed, she took a slow breath and opened her eyes again. Everything was back in place. The same wide bed, the same luxurious room on the second floor of Thorne’s villa. It was all gone. Geoffrey, the cardinal, the breathtaking mountain panorama. It was just a terrible dream. Even the fact that she was floating in mid-air when she burst into tears, Kate wrote off as being part of the same dream, even though it could have been true. After all, she was obeying the element of air, so why shouldn’t she be able to take off if she wanted to? No, she preferred it to be just a dream. However she couldn’t get Geoffrey out of her head. She could still see his indifferent eyes
and stoic posture. Her heart squeezed at the thought that something might have happened to him. Suddenly her mobile rang and Kate jumped up from in bed, startled by the unexpected call.
