Not Ordinary Love
Emman lifted his hand, fingers hovering near her cheek but he stopped himself, fist clenching slightly as he pulled back.
Alexie closed her eyes briefly, steadying herself.
“Don’t,” she whispered not as a rejection, but as a reminder.
He nodded, breath shaky.
“I won’t.”
Instead, she reached out slowly, deliberately and took his hand.
Not pulling him closer.
Not holding him back.
Just…grounding.
They stood like that for a few seconds hands linked, space intact, feelings unresolved.
Then Alexie let go.
“Good night, Emman,” she said softly.
“Good night, Alexie.”
