Her arm got yanked and her body hurled forward into the red leather sofa, and the next time she blinked, the Godfather had a face hovering close to her neck.
Terror twisted her face as she jerked back, wrists bound with thick ropes to her back. Some random man next to her shoved her back into him, and she froze when her head slumped against his chest.
“You did an excellent job earlier.” His voice rumbled against her earlobe, hands parting her hair aside.
Louisa made to flinch back again, but something heavy and metal pressed against her rib, causing her to halt as her heart got caught in her throat.
The Godfather moved away from her, leaned forward into the table, and picked up a glass of dry scotch. He popped the bottle, poured the first glass, and brought it like an offering she dared not refuse to her lips.
