Cerita Pendek Tragic Love Werewolf & Novel Substitute Bride

In the Northern Alliance, the Claiming is an ancient tradition. On a Blood Moon, an Alpha must fight his way into the Omega quarters, carry his chosen mate on his back, and break through every obstacle to seal the bond. I waited five years for Joric. Tonight, he finally breached my courtyard with his Betas. My heart raced. I was about to run to him when I heard his hushed voice. "Grab Giselle in the chaos. She’s too fragile. I won't let that tyrant Alpha claim her. As for Faelan... she’s the strongest Omega we have. Practically a warrior. She can fend for herself." His Betas exchanged uneasy looks. "Alpha, is this a good idea? You and Faelan are practically mates already. If she finds out, she’ll raise hell!" "Let her," he brushed it off. "The Claiming is pure chaos. It’s easy to grab the wrong girl. I’ll smooth things over with her later. Besides, you all know I never officially filed our mating papers with the Council. Faelan will just have to deal with it for now." Behind the door, I heard every single word. My wolf didn't let out a tragic howl. I just quietly stepped back into my room. Everyone thought I’d bare my claws and fight to the death when a different Alpha came for me. Instead, I quietly climbed onto the back of a far more powerful Alpha. I became another pack's Luna.

Our Pack followed an ancient law: if a she-wolf wasn't bonded by the age of 23, the Pack had the right to assign her a mate, regardless of her will. Felix is my childhood sweetheart and fated mate, the Alpha of the Moonclaw Pack. But he postponed our bonding ceremony and is holding a mating ceremony with an Omega first, all because of that law. Felix pitied Omega, Valentina, who was already 22, afraid she would be matched with a bad mate. But he seemed to forget that after waiting for him for 5 years, I would turn 23 next month. My mother and I begged him to reconsider our mating ceremony only to be met with Felix's dilemma attitude: "You've waited this many years, what's a little longer?" "Besides me, who else would choose Valentina? Clara, you still have parents, but Valentina is poor, she only has me." "Please wait, after the mate bond ceremony with Valentina, I'll break it and then bond with you." Later, in order to prevent me from bonding with a slave, my mother hurriedly chose a mate for me. Coincidentally, my mate bond ceremony and Felix and Valentina's mate bond ceremony were on the same day. On the day I was being taken off in a luxury car, I passed by Felix handing him ceremonial flowers. When he saw me, he suddenly shifted into a wolf and blocked the car insane. Even after being hit and vomiting blood, he stared intensely at me and asked why I was wearing a wedding dress…

My sister fled on the day of her Bonding Ceremony. I was forced to marry the Lycan King known for his brutality. Six years later, she returned. Still as bold and brazen as ever, she pressed a crimson kiss against Kael’s collar—right in front of the entire Council of Elders. Kael went rigid. Then she turned to me, her eyes gleaming with mockery. “Little sister, thank you for keeping my throne warm all these years. Now that I’m back, it’s time you gave me back my place as Luna Queen.” Silence swallowed the hall. Everyone remembered what happened when she ran away. Kael had nearly slaughtered half a rival territory in his rage. So now? I wondered too. Would this unpredictable, brutal King lose his mind for her once again?

I have been dead for seven years. For seven years, a rare plague had ravaged the Silver Moon Kingdom. The new Luna, Lilith, wasn't immune either. She coughed up blood daily, her old wounds weeping anew with every full moon. Even in death, to the wolf packs, I was still the jinx. The false Luna who had beguiled the Alpha King. The cursed one destined to bring ruin to the kingdom. The entire kingdom begged Alpha King Kaelan to banish my vengeful spirit. My former mate was in the royal palace, softly consoling his current Luna, my sister. "Lilith, don't be afraid. If she insists on tormenting you with her curse even after death, then I will tear her inner wolf to shreds. You'll never be threatened by her again." But when they set foot in the Rogue Lands where I had been exiled, they found no wandering spirit of mine. Before them knelt the corpses of dozens of she-wolves, arranged neatly before my crude grave. They had all been exiled as "sinners", yet now, in death, they offered their final act of devotion. There was no trace of any spirit. There was only a small girl, about six years old, sitting beside the tombstone and clutching a photograph of me from when I was alive. Her ice-blue eyes were a perfect reflection of Kaelan's. "You're too late," she said. "Her inner wolf returned to the Moon Goddess long ago." "I've only been waiting here to get justice for my mother."
