After the Countdown

After the Countdown

He was not only buried under enormous debt, but also forced to spend the rest of his life in endless pain, unable to live or die in peace. Two weeks later, I was sitting on the balcony of Elise's apartment, enjoying the afternoon sun. On the television, an urgent news report was playing. "Early this morning, former actress Victoria Quinn was found dead after falling from the roof of the downtown grand theater. Police discovered large quantities of empty liquor bottles and medication at the scene. According to sources, Victoria Quinn had long suffered from worsening paralysis and severe hallucinations..." I calmly watched the shocking bloodstain on the news footage. The coffee cup in my hand

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

Then she walked up to me, viciously grinding her foot into my wound, using my blood as ink to press down her handprint. After finishing all this, she revealed a cruel smile. "Let him go," she ordered the security guards before saying to me, "John, you know? Your look of despair was just like your mother's before she died. On the day I went to court to declare you dead, I deliberately delivered the good news to your mother. Who would have thought that she'd be so frail? She passed away due to a heart attack." Nora did not have an ounce of pity on her face, only provocation.

Even After My Death, They Hound Me

Even After My Death, They Hound Me

And next to our name, carved in smaller letters, there was a line that said, "May we never meet again in the afterlife." This was my final punishment for them. I would never forgive them forever.

The Third Year After My Death

The Third Year After My Death

The last image before I could remember was Winston signing the agreement to donate his remains. Then he was lying in our home, calmly making his last phone call. "Hello, I'm dying. You can come now." With that, he cut his wrist. "Aryanna, I'm coming for you." But I turned around and went away, not looking at him. Another tiny grave had been added to the high green hill, and that little grave sat at the foot of the hill. We would never meet again.

What Separates Me and You

What Separates Me and You

"Don't worry. I'll ensure you die a horrible death. I'll let you watch me cut off your limbs, rip your heart out of your chest, and finally decapitate you …" The man's eyes bulged, almost popping out of their sockets. As he was suffocating, he could only gasp for breath. He was obviously in anguish. Layla continued, "Not only that, I'll dissect you so no one can find you. Even if they do, they won't be able to put the pieces back together. I once heard that if the deceased's corpse is incomplete, they won't go into the afterlife. I don't think the likes of you deserve an afterlife. You should stay in hell obediently."

Rayna Pelkonen
This is one of the saddest female leads ever. It keeps getting worse for the FL. The plot is unclear. The reason for him being with both women and his feelings are unclear. It’s entertaining but not very satisfying. Like to know what his feelings are towards them and hope things get better for FL.

Book was a page turner until I got to the end and then had to start reading 1 a day. Some closure to MsJenkins and divorce but not fully closed. No real character development and Josie is getting worse. I will keep reading for now but may be jumping ship soon if Josies situation doesn’t get better.

Darkness

Darkness

The energy bounced back like it was reflected off a field. "What was that?" Natalia asked. "What did you just try to do?" "I tried to heal you." "I'm already dead. I have to return to my realm to heal." "Wait, can you die?" She nodded curtly. I pressed a clean towel to her wounds. "What happens after you die?" She shrugged. "It's the same as with humans. They don't know about contracts. So there may be something better like the next level heaven or hell, or maybe we just stop existing."

Death's Day

Death's Day

If it ever did, he would dismiss it as a mere gossip. Marcus continued staring through the windows as the greenery rushed past them, while he turned back inwardly to something that was troubling his soul. His mind told him he had made a mistake. His ego told him that what he did was right. It was not every day that one got to deal with a witch, even if it was a little boy. That wouldn’t have been a problem if he had not nearly choked because the boy, Jason was looking at him. Dean had died soon after. Problem was he didn’t know how powerful the boy was.

My Death Contract

My Death Contract

“Will I need to sign a prenup?” “No, our ‘death contract’ as you call it will cover everything and since neither of us will be breaking it until death do us part there is no need to sign a prenub. Should I die you would be my beneficiary as in a normal marriage. Also whatever debts you have, such as school loans, become mine once you sign the papers.” “That isn’t making it any better to give up my romantic life. Men have needs but so do women. What happens when I want to, you know.”
