I’m too tired for the after-bell pushing and need some quiet time to get home and maybe take a night off. I have the shelter today, but I’m not feeling it and seriously think for the first time in forever, I might call in sick, get into bed with snacks and binge on a N*****x show. I’m emotionally and physically spent, and today, after the whole ‘Babe’ drama has me feeling dead.

My father's voice conversed with his as I brushed my hair down and stepped into the hallway. I peered at them as they sat at the coffee table in our house and argued. Unrelenting fear found me when I saw the way he mischievously smiled. A debt collector. "Is that your daughter?" He asked loudly when he spotted me. I quickly patted down my clothes and walked over to them, trying my best to appear appealing. "Good morning, it's nice to meet you," I said courtly while giving a small smile. The gentleman smiled back at me and nodded. "Walter, you sure have a nice daughter."

“ three days is all I'm giving you, Sinclair, three days to send me my money or I would let the media feed on this. You already know how that would affect you. Five million dollars.” Turning sharply on her heels, she walked out the door. I turned to Eve in time to see her drop weakly on the couch. “You don't really believe me, do you? No, don't answer that. I know you don't. You didn't have to stand up for me.”
