The power within her was awakening—and it was too much to contain. The Werebeast stepped forward, its eyes glowing with a twisted intelligence. It wasn’t like the other beasts she had encountered before. This one—this weapon—was something different. The lines between animal and soldier had blurred, and it was no longer just a beast of destruction. It was something more, something deeper. "You carry the Soulbone," it repeated, its voice raspy, almost reverent. "The key. The Frostkin blood... it calls to us."

A leg bone, from the surface, was almost rotten! The moment Samuel saw the bones on the legs, he thought of the skull he had obtained on Earth. He could not prove that the two bones belonged to the same body, but the feeling they brought to him was exactly the same. Samuel took a deep breath. The skull had already merged with him. The leg bone in front of him also contained a huge amount of energy. He seemed to have foreseen that the leg bone would eventually merge with his body. Although he knew that it would greatly improve his strength, where did these bones come from? Who left them behind? How could they merge with his body? I had never seen a weredragon before because they were very rare and non-existent in some generations. The weredragon Aunt Joanna spoke of could be the only one of his kind. All I had heard of were dragons was how powerful and dangerous they were. One breath of theirs could melt the bones of any being. If Aunt Joanna was not a very stubborn woman, I would have advised her to change her company. I knew I would have more chance baptising a cat than telling Aunt Joanna who she should relate with.
