Chosen By The Moon By Izabella W Novels & Stories

“Ava…” She turned to him, voice steady. “I remember everything.” “She’s not the only one who was forged in shadow.” “I was forged in love.” —THE MOON HEALS Above them, the moon pulsed faintly. A single crack sealed shut. The blood stopped falling. And the whisper of the Moon Goddess returned. “Daughter of flame. You are no longer just chosen. You are the Chooser.”

Isabella sought to control us all, to bend the pack to her will. I continued my pursuit, all the while keeping a safe distance. We arrived at a clearing bathed in moonlight, and Isabella's presence took on a more ethereal quality. She stood at the epicenter, her eyes gleaming with an otherworldly light. As I watched, a surge of energy rippled through the clearing, and the Moon Goddess appeared before her with a radiance that could rival the moon itself. Her voice carried a soothing power, her words filled with wisdom and protection.

Her eyes are pools of liquid silver, a reflection of the moon itself, and they sparkle with a wisdom that seems to transcend time and space. Izzy’s breath catches in her throat. She has never seen anyone so beautiful in her entire life. “Isabela,” the Moon Goddess whispers, her voice soft and calm. “I am glad you could join me here.” “Are you the real one this time?” she asks, apprehensive, even if the feeling matches her presence. “This is my domain, my dear child.” “I never thought I would get to meet you on my first attempt.” “There is much that I want to share with you. Much that I want you to understand.” The Moon Goddess gazes at her and Izzy’s heart fills with warmth. “But as you’ve e

I didn't need to hear the words, I could read them in every sidelong glance. Usurper, the intruder and the unchosen one. When I reached my seat, the noblewoman to my right; a sleek elder named Lady Morwyn, offered me a stiff nod. "Lady Isabella," she said with all the warmth of a winter storm, "I hear your bond is… unconventional." The subtle hush around us thickened. I met the woman's gaze evenly, "The bond was chosen by the Moon Goddess." Morwyn's eyes narrowed, "So they say." She said nonchalantly.

The cost of every step forward rose like the tide. One night, Isabella stood alone in the chapel. “Moon Mother,” she whispered, “if you still walk beside me… show me what must come.” A figure appeared in the shadows—silver eyes, crescent scar. “You’re ready,” the Moonbearer said. “But war will not wait for your peace. You must burn the throne itself.” “And if I burn with it?” “Then the realm rises from your ashes.” Isabella closed her eyes. She was no longer afraid.

“True. But I have the power to choose who I become.” The moon above flickered once—bright and approving. And somewhere far beyond the borders, the High Council sensed it. The Moon-Bearer had made her choice to stand. In return, the moon had chosen her as well.

Izzy begins to shake her head before she says, “He’s, my mate.” I began to piece it all together now and I understood why Damon thought it was a joke, but I also knew why he growled when I touched Izzy. The Moon Goddess was the one that picked our mates, and she was throwing me a major curve ball with this pairing, and I had to wonder what Shawn would think of this match, but we knew not to step in the way of the Moon Goddess’s matches. She did what she did for a reason and this reason I was unsure of. Turning my attention back to Damon, I said, “Damon this is Izzy, my Beta’s sister and I am sorry to say but this is no joke. I am just as surprised with this union as you are.”

Kael's heart broke. Then Lucien took his hand. No magic. No prophecy. No bond. Just his hand. “I choose you.” Kael looked into his eyes. And smiled through his tears. “I choose you too.” The First Moon disappeared. The throne collapsed. And for the first time in thousands of years— the Moon was silent. Not because it had abandoned them. Because it had finally given them the freedom to choose.

Rodrigo gulped down a glass of whiskey, not having the will to go against his mate on this subject. “Thanks, mom.” Isabel hugged her mom tightly, smiling to herself. It was moments like this that makes her thank the moon goddess for not giving her a dominant werewolf for a mother.

The cheer from the crowd grew twice as loud, people throwing flower petals up into the air and chanting our names. Killian raised his hand, and the crowd slowly went quiet, waiting for his every word. "People of Blackwood," Killian’s deep voice echoed over the courtyard, carrying easily through the magic microphones set along the balcony. "For weeks, you have watched the Selection. You have heard rumors, lies, and doubts spread by those who fear change." He turned his head, looking down at me with an intensity that made my throat go dry. "The Moon Goddess does not make mistakes," Killian announced clearly, his voice ringing across the entire city. "Isabella Brooks is not just a candidate. Sh
