Though news did not travel quickly in a world without fast transportation or telephones, any village that wasn't entirely isolated knew what had happened to the City of Beasts, sometimes called Great City, the largest and most advanced settlement in the known region. A purely human girl from a different time and space fell among them, and a cruel and jealous Ape King had turned the entire city on her using magic and premonitions of destruction.

Third Person's POV The magical creatures run to the city to help protect the wolves and vampires, ready to attack the City of Sin. Vladimir is far ahead of the rest because he wants to be there when they confront his parents. Helga is safely asleep in the little mine town, and her boyfriend Yuri is in a jail protected against magic. Gazelle and her gypsies ensured he could not escape the prison using his magic. Nobody wants him to flee because they know he is not a good creature. Helga is asleep and can not help him either. The two are kept from the humans so no one can accidentally help them.

Astreau, Nine Hundred and Forty Years Before Thaelen stood by the window to the room, looking out on the promenade. The revelry spilled out onto the street in waves of activity, the humans scattering once released from the buildings. He saw a group of young boys run from the shadows causing outcry as they threaded through the drunken humans, before fleeing on fleet feet into the darkness. “Thieves,” Meguitte observed as she joined him. “Yes,” he agreed. “Something to keep in mind for our time here.”

The buildings were made of black glass and white bone, reaching up toward a sky that was permanently stuck in a deep, blood-red sunset. This was the **City of the Seam**, the hidden heart of the world’s magic.

He knew I had left my hometown and didn't really have many friends here, but he still chose to leave me alone in the city to cool off. But I remembered what happened last year. He lied and said he was going home for the holidays. Instead, he went to spend New Year's with Mia. His excuse was that Mia was feeling down, and she had no friends here. He was afraid she might do something reckless. "Ethan, since Nora is here, you two should talk first. "By the way, can I have the room card?" Mia smiled and held out her hand. Ethan naturally took the room card from his pocket and handed it to her. "Wait for me upstairs."

I went looking but when I returned, an unknown guy took my phone. “Hey bro, that's mine,” I called out. He’s a teenager who’s at least sixteen. But instead of giving it to me, he suddenly ran. Then again, he wouldn’t have gone to all sort of measures just to make sure you’d fall right into his hands. We could say that, in a way, most of his plans backfired. We found each other and we were ready to die saving each other.” Shrugging, Hera leaned on her outstretched arms, staring blindly at the setting sun. “Still, I don’t see the point why he has to surround his underground city with illusions.” “Beats me.” Sheels pursed her lips. “I don’t know what he’s up to, but maybe it was to trap us and to keep track in our progress since we can feel everything in the radius of our projection.”

Jade didn't bring money to buy anything, it depended on what the men she was traveling with were doing at the time. "I'm sorry, I have no money, I'm just traveling with this group of gentlemen." That old man was somewhat sad and walked off walking around the carriage, looking for whoever would give him some money. Jade noticed that the city was quite poor. She saw many people begging in the streets, plus the houses were in bad shape. One of the guards standing near her spoke to her. "You must stay in the chariot, do not talk to anyone. The city is full of thieves. There is a shortage of food, so you must be careful. What you did was dangerous."

My heart dropped. “You see,” the demon continued, “treasures always demand a price.” Her voice drifted like smoke. “If you want the truth, go to the Stormspire Mountain. Every answer you seek waits there.” The doors burst open as the werewolf elders stormed in. Outside, strange, soft-bodied creatures were fighting the police—boneless, writhing, crawling across the garden like massive larvae. I stared at them in horror. The worms. “Oh,” Thalmyr giggled. “You’ve found my little gift. Do you like it?”

Shawna, Trixie, and Tavie: “How do we get the kids outta there if the Leviathan is blocking the door?” Shawna said, as they hid behind the overturned truck. The Leviathan was blowing flames out of all his heads at the same time. He was pissed, it seemed like he wanted to get rid of them before he goes to handle whatever it was that cause the fire in the forest. Trixie peaked out at the Leviathan, then at the door he was blocking. She saw Razz peak his head out of the door, more than likely looking to see if he and his friends could help get them inside the underground city. Trixie caught his eyes and shook her head for him to not make a move. She could see the stubbornness in his eyes.
