His fingers shook as he swept a cold smile across the crowd. “The memory decoder is a new product. Data misalignment is normal. Maybe Finn altered the memories before he died to drag his wife down with him. After all, he’s a murderer who even dared to kill his wife's parents!” A team member burst in, face ashen, shouting, “Chief! Another murder just happened in the south district! As I approach the cell, my heart hammers in my chest, and my palms feel cold and sweaty. My wolf pushes forward, trying to look into the cell with me. I look into the cell and see he's still laying in the same exact spot. He hasn't moved an inch in the last several hours. My chest tightens, and my stomach drops. Oh Goddess, is he even still alive?

She was clearly fazed by how fierce I had just been. I could have snapped her neck if I hadn’t held myself back. That anger—that outburst—had begun the night I accepted Raid in. I must be siphoning it from him. “A crazy bitch mated to a psychopath alpha,” she muttered. “The world really does need his help.” “His help?” I scoffed as I pulled out a photograph of Cynthia's corpse.

Reid’s top lip curled and a snarl escaped his lips just before a sadistic smirk appeared,
