"I'm the only one who knows who you really are. You're even richer than that snob, Charlotte." I remembered Charlotte. The bully girl in high school. Her father owned a dairy factory, and she always told everyone that he imported milk worldwide. Charlotte, the redhead, always dressed up like a witch and maintained her sexy gothic style. She became Stev's personal prostitute, who was the head of the basketball team. Well, maybe Charlotte thinks they are lovers, but Steve always tells her what they are doing behind her back. Everyone at school knew Charlotte's game, and about the first time, she lost her virginity.

Glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, she asked, “What is this charmer business about, anyway?” He looked at her; obviously surprised she would choose to speak to him. He took a moment to answer. “A charmer makes men want her. It’s the special pheromone she produces that makes the Haunt male wild.”

Charlotte asked after a bit. “It was good.” I smiled faintly as I recalled watching Nora dive under the water to touch starfish and swim next to sea turtles. “It was an exciting day for her.” I glanced at Charlotte. “Same for you, apparently.” She made a face. “I didn’t mean to get that drunk. Those drinks were stronger than I thought.” “I noticed.” “Are you mad?” I looked at her. She was watching me carefully, like she was bracing herself for a lecture.

"That's some smart thinking, young lady. Go ahead and make it sound good so you can actually promote us!" Holding my phone, I slowly walked deeper into the cold storage. Under the pretense of introducing our wine, I made my way toward the freezer where the two were hiding. "These freezers are our latest in-house design with an incredibly powerful flash-freeze capability. It can drop the internal temperature by 68 degrees Fahrenheit in just three minutes. Let me give the viewers a quick demonstration." As I spoke, I reached out and flipped the flash-freeze switch. The freezer began to hum loudly to life.

After that, Adrian never came looking for me again. I only heard that he'd had the most extravagant wedding gown custom-made for Charlotte in Italy, given her a priceless pink diamond, and brought her to meet the old Don.
