I asked, when I couldn't come up with the best answer, "Something is preventing my magic from coming out." She said. I felt the hair on my arms rising in unknown dread. "What could be so powerful to prevent the magic? How?" My eyes were big when I looked at her. My heart was drumming. She giggled and showed me her palm. He would take over all universes and no one but me would be able to stop him. The problem is would I be able to. I set the papers on my lap just in case. I looked at the book and I had to close my eyes. There were tabs marking certain pages. I would look to see what he marked off before trying to tap into the magic. It forced itself inside of him causing him to be overcome with violent convulsions all while held paralyzed in the spot where he stood. I saw Liam in the distance shoving everyone outside of the room because he knew all too well what I was capable of when I was this angry.

I couldn't afford to falter. "No more," I whispered to myself, my voice firm, even as my heart trembled with trepidation. "I won't let fear dictate our fate. I'll find a way to stop Dorian, no matter what it takes." With those words, I reached deep within myself, tapping into the wellspring of my magic. Time magic, the very essence that had eluded my grasp before, beckoned to me like an old, enigmatic friend. This time, I wouldn't let it slip through my fingers.
