Jonathan sat there in tarns. It was 3rd time when he encountered Daniel and just like always he was the light to guide him to his right path. Jonathan wanted to hug him for always being a saviour. He freed Shaggy on ground and was about to stand-up. "Jonny...." Jim came running. He bent down with his hands over his knees to make his breath normal. "What happened." Jonathan stood up with a frown. Jim was huffing and pointing at the paper envelope in his hand.

"You should run." Felix doesn't move, unable to leave what he believes to be an injured Waylon alone. "Come on, let's go." Waylon shakes his head, eyes hard. They face Gordon in what feels like an old western showdown. Gordon drops his cane, and with a wet snap, he starts transforming. His shades shatter on the ground as his mouth pulls forward, rows of razor-sharp teeth forming in a drooling snout. Ariadne can't shoot. There are way too many innocent people around. The other visitors are still within range, too stupid to escape.

Angry Fox strides forward, raising the rifle again, yelling muffled gibberish. “I can’t hear you,” Big Jim says, smiling. “You better take off that ridiculous head.” Big Jim’s calm seems natural, given his profession. Who knows what kind of freak she greets on a daily basis? He steps to one side, his hands near his waist, creating some space between him and Trent and the Mountain. Get ready to duck, we tell Trent. Calm me down! Right now! Wimp, we joke, but squeeze dopamine into his blood until his cells sing as pure and golden as a thousand angels on the head of a pin. He could dance a tango right here, if only the Mountain released his grip on the back of his shirt.

Jim grunted, and turned to face Miyen. Jo was frozen, a hand to her mouth. The man had ran from behind the counter to step between them, but the other guys cut him off as they stood around Miyen, ready to back him up. Sean was swearing furiously under his breath. Miyen kept his eyes on Jim, clenched fists against his thighs, chin up. “What the fuck’re you doing here, you son of a bitch?” he asked. Jim wiped the blood with the back of his hand and flashed a little smirk, bearing the pain. “Y’know, LA was so fucking boring, I thought it’d be fun coming to the other fucking end of the world to have my nose broken.”

Gordon smirked inwardly, realizing Jorge was reminding him of the family’s history to caution against wild ambitions. However, the Riggs' glory days were over, and they were no longer as powerful as before. This realization emboldened Gordon, who now had a plan in mind. Outwardly, he maintained a fake smile and said, "Rest assured, Mr. Jorge. I will help you obtain the legacy." Cursing Gordon inwardly, Jorge quickly changed the subject and asked, "This beast attack is so unusual. Something’s not right."

I could feel his elbow in my ribs and I was likely going to be sore for a few days but it wasn't bad enough to scold the kid. Besides, I didn't really mind it. I hadn't been this close to a child in years. In Moonstone Pack, despite being Luna in practice if not in title, I had been separate from most of them in a way that hadn't fully registered until now — sitting on the dirt path with Gordon's son looking at me like I was mildly interesting and completely safe. Gordon crouched beside us, one hand finding Jamie's collar to pull him upright. "Up," he said, and Jamie went, then immediately turned back to look at me still on the ground.

Suddenly, the door swung open with a creak that echoed through the room, and Gordon stepped inside, his face illuminated by the dim light from the corridor. A twisted grin spread across his scarred features, and Daryl’s gut churned at the sight of him. “Well, well, well, look who we have here,” Gordon drawled, his voice dripping with mockery. “The mighty sons of Alpha Liam, brought low by their own ignorance.” He stepped further into the room, the scent of his arrogance filling the air. “You see, I’m in league with Vercus now. Together, we have the power to wipe Waterfall off the map.”

After all, the body-hardening technique of the Philips family in Central Harbor was very famous. Bam! When the strike hit Gordon, he could not even retain his confident smile. His protective pure energy instantly broke apart. It could not withstand the strike at all. Bam! Gordon was sent flying and traced a long arc through the air. He flew even farther than Sylvester before he fell heavily to the floor. Everyone watched in shock. Was Gordon unable to withstand Dustin’s strike too? Sylvester might have been putting up an act. But Gordon could not have been doing the same thing!

The substance was mountain ash and the only way to break it was to light it ablaze and that means risking Gordon that was inside of the circle. Jordan took a deep breath and concentrated his power on his fingers, he places it gently on the mountain ash and it burnt up rapidly and disappeared. He heaved a sigh of relief and moved closer to Gordon, he touched his neck and closed up the wound which healed him and just at that moment, Gabriel walked in rushing towards them. “What happened Jordan?” Gabriel said panicking. “An unwanted visitor just brought herself to this house and Uncle Gordon was her first target.” Jordan said trying to wake Gordon up from his unconscious state.

How had she really died? Before I could spiral down that path, Jim trotted over to a nearby bush and retrieved a pile of clothes with his mouth, dropping them on the ground. The sickening sounds of shifting filled the air again, and in moments, all three stood before me, naked and unabashed. I whirled around, my face burning, my eyes fixed on a particularly interesting strand of foxtail grass. I refused to let my gaze stray to the powerful lines of Gavin’s body, to the V-line that disappeared…
