TEMPTING THE ENEMY (MM)
He moved towards me, smooth, calculated, predatory, till his breath whispered hot against my cheek and I could feel the rumble of his speech vibrating in his chest.
‘I'm not a soft lover,’ he whispered, his voice low and thick like syrup on glass.
“I’m an obsessive one.” I felt my stomach turn, my breath caught sharp.
My mouth opened – I had some snappy thing to say, some put-down hovering on the tip of my tongue – but it slipped quickly from my mind as those fingers closed in tight onto the edge of my pants and yanked me forward to crash me solidly down onto the couch beside him.
