"Alpha Harrison wants you to be taken to the wolves of Castmere, so they'll use you for rituals." Zoe said, her breathing tensed. "He says you're too much bad luck." "And the Luna?" THE STARWEAVER PACK. I stared at the six feet deep grave I had dug. I had spent hours digging it, but I didn't care. I was weak, but the thought of whom I was about to bury kept me strong. This was arguably the best I've felt ever since I was born. A smirk escaped my lips as I shifted my gaze to the dead body, lying still. I closed my eyes and let myself relish the images of how he died. The way several claws dug into his body until he was lifeless. The struggle and fight he put up to it was bliss to my battered soul. "Are you done digging, omega?" A voice asked, jerking me off my thoughts. The shovel I had used almost fell off my hands. Thankfully, it didn't, as that would have attracted more punishments for me. "Yes, Luna." I bowed immediately. Luna Cara was one of the people that made my life horrible. Being born by a traitor to the pack and also being birthed as a twain under the cursed moon was enough to have me killed. My mother, an omega, was killed. My twin sister was said to have died with her. Several times, I also wish I suffered the same fate. Luna Cara got closer to me. She patted me on the back. That was a sign that I had done well, but I felt rather nervous and fearful. "How about we throw you down there with Tristan?" She asked, sounding very amused. Fear gripped my whole being. I started shivering. Luna Cara was taking walks around me, enjoying every bit of my misery. "It would not be so evil to let you die with the traitor, Tristan." "Forgive me, Luna." I begged, falling on my knees. Tristan had sold valuable pack information to a rival pack. Harrison, the alpha of the pack, found out and had Tristan beaten to death by the pack. I took no part in it, but I enjoyed every part of it, because Tristan made my life worse than a living hell. "There's nothing to forgive." Luna Cara said, bending over to meet me halfway. She released a very wicked laugh and even clapped her hands. "You should really stop feeding off her fear." Alpha Harrison's thick voice shook me a little bit. He was always in support of his mate and if she truly wants me buried alive, it'd happen. "See now terrified she is." She said, standing up to hug the alpha. The rest of the pack were behind him. "Blame me not for enjoying it." They locked lips and made disgustingly loud sounds. "Well, the daughter of a traitor should also suffer the same fate as her mother." Alpha Harrison said. I cowered in fear, shivering intensely. They always make threats but I'd never get used to them. "Please, alpha." I begged. "Just so you know," Luna Cara started, resting her leg on my knees, "you are not a member of this pack. You're a fucking slave." "Yes, Luna." I fought the tears trying hard to escape my eyes. Luna Cara laughed in an evil manner. She was having a lot of fun. "Okay bae, that's enough." Alpha Harrison said, pulling his mate to his side. She kept giggling. "I'm not sure if I enjoyed killing Tristan." Luna Cara giggled, "I was thinking I could make peace with the tempest in me by killing this one." I had nothing to do with Tristan's murder. I only watched and imagined myself being the one in charge. It was exhilarating and scary at the same time. "We will get rid of her, but not yet." Alpha Harrison muttered. "I have other plans for her." Alpha Harrison pulled me to my feet by my hair. My head ached for a few seconds and my scalp burnt, but it was nothing I wasn't used to already. "Well then, let's get to the burial nonsense." Luna Cara spat, sounding disgusted. "Traitors don't deserve burials, or what do you think, Nyx?" "They don't, Luna." I responded. A drop of tears escaped my eyes. I could not wait for all these to be over with. It was getting unbearable already. "Good." She giggled again. We went on with the funeral. Anytime a member of the pack is killed by someone in the pack, there are ritual processions that must be observed to avert evil. As the funeral went on, more tears escaped my eyes but I hid them well. Anyone seeing me cry would mean more punishments for me. I could not get punished any longer. I had tried to kill myself over the years, but nothing ever worked. Neither poison nor knives. I always came out alive. I wish I had just died alongside my twain. I was far useless than any slave ever in every pack I had come across. I could not shift, neither could my healing abilities kick in. The only good thing I had , that had proven otherwise bad over time, was my weird inability to die. I might have already taken too much poison, that I had already become immune. The funeral was over in a jiffy and the rituals were done. The pack went back inside and I followed behind, hoping that no one would decide to torture me again. "Nyx!" Luna Cara called in a very prolonged manner. "She would be the death of me." I muttered to myself before rushing to her presence. "Luna?" I responded, bowing my head. "Get me a glass of water." She ordered. I ran into the kitchen and got her what she desired. I felt dizzy from the living room all the way into the kitchen. I could feel life and consciousness, slipping out of me. I just have to give her this cup and get far away from her before whatever wants to happen would happen. As I got closer to her, I could hear her shouting, but her words were unclear. I could see her lips moving and her veins straining, but I surprisingly couldn't heat anything. I had almost gotten to her when my consciousness gave up on me. I fell to the ground, with her glass of water still in my hands. The glass broke as I fell and the water spilled out. Rather than having people surround me, I felt a kick to my stomach. Even in my unconscious state, I knew I was done for.Kieran's POV I was beyond angry. I was outraged. The wolf world needed them too badly, and they just gave us up. I ran downstairs, taking long strides, and Nyx was behind me. I didn't take a weapon because I barely used any. “Let me see!” I growled, turning Jephta's laptop over to me. I stared at it for as long as I could, and it was true. They were all coming together, wolf and sea against wolf. My heart sank deep in my chest as every thought and option I previously had about winning dwindled with exceeding great numbers. My heart broke, and my body shivered as this happened.“Fucking hell.” Nyx growled beside me. “We've got to do something, and we've got to do it fast.” I was already flaming red-hot, with no other plans than to end every single one of them, but I couldn't fight the goddesses alone.“How many minutes till they get here?” I asked.“We've got a minimum of fifteen minutes. They're moving slowly because the army is exceedingly large,” Jeptha responded, and that had m
Kieran's POV We got back to the pack house early that morning, to notice that camps had been set all around, and even in the vast area of land. The soldiers bowed as we drove in. I walked side by side with Nyx, and Jubril ran outside to come and see us. “What's the fuss all about?” I asked as he bowed to greet me.“The council of Alphas are on their way over here, and the news says that they'd be here in about two hours,” Jubril responded. “Oh okay?” I shrugged, whilst Nicholas and the others walked in. I might have noticed Jephta and Kieran holding their pinky fingers together. “That's it,” Jubril said.“Boy, relax.” I hissed. “Tell everyone to ease up.”“No one should disturb me till I decide to come out myself,” I ordered, and he bowed. I let Nyx walk in front of me. We slept all through the night, and I watched her shake her ass as she walked. I walked up to her, and I gently spanked her as she walked. “Girl, the things I'll do for you,” I whispered, and she giggled.“Boy,
Kieran's POV Nyx and I were intensely kissing, and she was on my legs when Jefe stopped the car immediately. The force with which he used to stop had me shocked and surprised. I was barely able to stop Nyx from crashing against the board.I opened the block that was between us, and looked through it, only to see several of the water creatures standing in front of the car. “What's the matter baby?” Nyx asked, leaning into me. “We're under attack.” I growled, and in a jiffy, we jumped out of the car to see what was happening. They were just a few feet away from us, and they were all looking deadly and angry. They were as big as the wolf giants I had previously fought. Nicholas and the others came down in about two minutes when we were already standing outside. “They were lying in wait for us,” Nyx muttered, moving closer to me. “Merrow might have done us dirty,” I hissed.“She did say that she had made up with those ones,” Akira said, and I growled at the ones standing before us.
Akira's POV Nicholas drove pretty fast, his hands steady on the wheel as the car sped down the road. The entire time, we stayed right behind Nyx’s car, keeping close until we were absolutely sure we had made it out safely. The tension from earlier still lingered, but the further we got from the sea, the more it began to fade. In the front seat, Nicholas and Blue sat close together, their fingers intertwined. Sometimes, I’d catch her glancing at him with a small, almost shy smile, and he’d squeeze her hand in response. It was clear they were lost in their own little world, wrapped up in whatever silent conversation their hearts were having. Meanwhile, beside me, Jephta was completely focused on his laptop, his fingers moving across the keyboard at a steady pace. His expression was unreadable, his eyes locked onto the screen as if nothing else existed. I watched him out of the corner of my eye, waiting for some kind of acknowledgment, some sign that he knew I was there. But he ne
Nyx's POV “Hello, Merrow.” I said, looking at the goddess that stood before me. “Why have you summoned me?” She asked. “Wolves wanting to see a sea goddess has to be one of the most unusual things I've ever witnessed.”“We need your help to win a battle against your own kind,” I said, and she laughed. “You do realize how weird that sounds, right?” She asked, and I shrugged. “You don't like these people. You've been at war with them for goodness knows how long. Fighting them with us shouldn't be a problem,” I said, trying to mediate. “And did you consider the possibility that we might have already made up?” She asked, and I shrugged.“It's a risk we're willing to take,” I said confidently. “You've still not come straight about what you want,” she said, walking towards us slowly and steadily. “We want the sea god, Neptune, and the sea goddesses Calypso, Lyraxys, and Calantha, “ Akira said. “And you were hoping that I'd help you in this battle against my own kind?” she asked.“Tha
Nyx's POV “Babe, I really need you to start speaking in words I can understand,” Kieran said. “You've not mentioned anything about a flat of dead corals, but does it exist now?”"Well, after the whole battle against the sea goddesses, which they could not win, the only way Merrow would talk to anyone was if they waved corals at her doorstep. It was a way of showing their loyalty to her."“Couldn't the sea goddess have attacked using that format? Because, as far as I know, those people are backstabbers and evil plotters,” Akira said.“But that's the thing. She'd have seized their breath before they would even be able to fire off instruments at her.” I answered. “She just hates wars and battles, so she'd keep to herself, unless the business she had to take care of was something subtle that'd not alarm a single person that she was the one.”“There are countless wars that are said to have been won in unknown ways, and they're mostly attributed to her in a sense, but no one gives the actu
