The warriors dropped to their knees, awe and reverence sweeping through the castle. Even outside, beyond the shattered walls of the castle, the other wolves bowed.
Then the sky split open. Light poured from above in silken strands, Athena appeared, her sister. I bowed instantly, tears still clinging to my cheeks.
“Rise, child of fate,” she said, her voice like music woven from silver threads. “You’ve already seen me through the Living Book. Only those touched by the Light can see us.”
