I jolted awake, trembling violently as cold sweat clung to my skin. A nightmare. Only a nightmare… though Hazel remained strangely restless beneath my skin. Suddenly, the door pushed open and Dominic crossed the room in seconds, concern darkening his expression. He was beside me before I could steady my breathing, his hand closing around mine. "Are you hurt, Natalia?" "I heard you from the room beside yours.” I turned my gaze to him as I regained my composure. "I–I'm fine. It was just a nightmare," I said, brushing away strands of hair from my face.

I woke, hours later, to Kitty screaming and crying in her sleep. "It's okay. I'm here. It's me, Craig. You're safe." I said, pulling her close so she can see my face. She woke up and looked at me in the dark. "Craig?" she asked as my door crashed open to reveal Dad and Clay standing there with Mom behind them. "Everything is fine. She just had a nightmare." I told them. Dad and Mom looked relieved but Clay looked pissed. "I'm so sorry." Kitty said through her tears.

After the boys had left my room, I went through my bag and pulled out my favorite book, Night Flame, by Catherine Hart. I sat back in my chair by the window, prepared to spend the rest of the afternoon reading when a shiver ran down my spine. I jumped out of my seat and spun around to see a pair of yellow eyes glowing in the corner of the room. As those eyes drew closer to me, I realized that it was Simon, the fae that came to warn me the other day.

Usually, she did not mind the dark, but tonight the dimness seemed especially oppressive, so she switched on her desk lamp. This was the third one of these strange dreams to assault her sleep. People said things often came in threes—she hoped it was true, for that would mean this was the last one. She doubted she would be so lucky, though. Where were the dreams coming from, she wondered? She’d never had nightmares before, though if anyone had reason to suffer from them it was her, with her mom’s story of the one-fanged vampire and her dad abandoning the family when she was so young. I nodded and then walked to the dining room with the plates in my hands placed neatly with the utensils in front of each chair. It was half-past eight meaning they would be coming in here soon so I walked around the table and stood on the side as the other two maids did. As I predicted they as in my stepsiblings walked in, Abraham, Sydney, Laura. Then behind them walked in the devil as in their mother. They all sat down in their respective seats and the chattering began. "Hey! Don t do that Adam and Sydney stop taking his side! You know he's trapping you in one of his disgusting games," Laura yelled to Abraham and Sydney. Whereas, Briana was on her phone doing God knows what.

The Nightmares are back again, I sniffed and wrapped the duvet around me before stepping down the bed. Bed..... Wait..., Who dropped me on the bed? How come? I remembered I slept on the floor. I bit my lips gently and tried walking away, Then, Maynard entered. He led me back to the bed and I smiled. " Is there a problem? "I asked gently not knowing what to say and he nodded. Dimitri grabbed her hand and started dragging her away as she yelled on top of her voice, stretching her other hand and trying to reach Leo who was coughing out blood but as Dimitri finally won and dragged her out of the place, she woke up. It has been all a dream, she looked around as she was now sweating profusely.
