My Left Eye Hurts When I Blink Novels & Stories

My eyes burned harshly as the light from the single bulb swaying carelessly above, invaded it. I winced in pain as the water seeped into my eyes, causing me to blink rapidly to wad the feeling. A stinging feeling rode up my arm as I flexed my wrist to try and rid myself from the entrapment. I rocked back and forth but the stinging sensation ravished my torso and my feet.

My vision begins to blurry and my stomach is hurting too. Then everything went blank.

He kept picking up the knife, telling himself, "I'm a man; I can handle this.” The minute he picked the knife back up. Lyle quickly put it back down. My vision got cloudy and I covered my eyes but it wasn’t strong enough to stop the tears from escaping. Why does it hurt so much …That I can’t breathe?

Elizabeth turned to watch him. “I am glad I could help Liz, I see you and your mom seem to have gotten most out of the woods” Elizabeth sighed at his words, “It’s a start…” she nodded to herself before lifting her head to look at Jace, she was so happy he had shown up, she smiled but quickly recoiled as she felt a sudden sharp pain in her left eye, her hands jumping over to her aid as she shut her eyes from pain. She made a discomforting sound as she vigorously rubbed at her eye. “Liz?”

She explained, then tilted her head slightly before asking, “Can you do without yours?” I shook my head slowly. “No,” I said. “I really can’t.” Ivy looked up at me. “Does it hurt?” I nodded. “Yes. A lot.” Without my glasses, everything turns blurry. And faces lose their shape. I can’t tell who is who unless they speak. I can see people standing there, but I can’t really see them. The pain usually starts behind my eyes. It grows and grows until it turns into a strong migraine. My head feels heavy, and even light makes it worse.

I look down to my other hand and blink. This is bad.

the doctor warned. " What's wrong with her eyes?” My mom asked. “It seems that the impact to her face caused a severe trauma to her optic nerves, leading to temporary blindness. It appears there is significant pressure or injury around the eye area, which resulted in the redness you see—this could be due to broken blood vessels or internal bleeding." He said and I turned to look at Lilly's red eyes. “The redness could subside in due time, but the blindness may take some time to recover from—"

Elora’s POV I woke up to the pungent smell of what seemed to be a herbal medicine invading my nostrils. The room was silent apart from my heavy breathing. I slowly got up and lifted my eyelids. I squinted in an attempt to sharpen the blurry image surrounding me. However, a sharp pain stung my eyeballs as soon as the light hit them. It felt as if my whole eyeballs were dried up. It gave me some discomfort making me blink a couple of times in an attempt to wet it with my tears. Unfortunately, it didn’t help so I ended up rubbing them. That was when I noticed that no matter what I do, my vision didn’t seem to enhance at all.

So, I stayed. Hour four was the hardest. The urge to blink became a form of torture. My eyes felt like they were filled with hot sand. I learned to "micro-blink"—closing one eye while keeping the other fixed on the glass, then switching. It was a rhythmic, exhausting dance. Every time I slipped, even for a second, I would see its fingers curl over the edge of the medicine cabinet, or see its torso lean out of the frame like a man stepping through a window.
