My Left Eye Hurts When I Blink Novels & Stories

Black spots filled my vision. "Brinley!" A look of pure horror crossed over Langdon's face as he instantly dropped to my side. At least I thought it was horror. My vision was so distorted, he could have been grinning like the damn Cheshire Cat, and I wouldn't have known better. I panted hard, unable to speak. It was an accident, and I didn't want him to feel worse, but I couldn't stop the tears that crested my eyelashes and trailed down my cheeks. Unimaginable pain ricocheted through the entire left side of my face, again and again, at my slightest movement.

Like something was growing. I swallowed hard, my heartbeat quickening. "No. No, no, no. What is this?" I tried to breathe, to calm myself, but the moment I looked up again, my heart stopped. My left eye. It was white. Not hazy. Not blind. White. Pale as snow, glowing faintly like a mist had settled in it. I reached up, touching the skin around it, then blinked several times. But the eerie glow didn't go away. "What... what's happening to me?"

The blurry look of both eyes greeted me unceremoniously. Remembering how tightly I had closed my eyelids earlier there. I instantly blinked my eyelids a few times in a fairly quick motion. Trying to get rid of the blurry vision in my eyes now. Until not long after, the vision of my two eyes now completely became clear, and I began to look right at the reflection of myself right there in the mirror now. "No... no... this is impossible."

I try to blink a couple of times, trying to adjust to the light, but I can’t see much out of it. “It’s blurry,” I tell the doctor. “Try closing your left eye,” she tells me. I close my left eye and focus with my right. When I look around the room, things are still blurry. “It’s still the same,” I tell the doctor, and Mom lets out a sob.

After work, Angela stopped by a mall to buy some food for Dolly, along with winter clothes, then drove to Rosewood Manor. On the way, her left eyelid kept twitching. Her father had taught her that when the left eyelid twitches, she should silently repeat, “Left eye brings luck, right eye brings trouble.” After repeating it three times, the twitching stopped, only for her right eyelid to start. Her father had taught her that too: when the right eyelid twitches, repeat, “Right eye brings luck, left eye brings trouble.” Strangely enough, both of her eyelids started twitching at the same time.

“Anthony…” He blinked again, harder this time, his pupils trying to focus. “I cannot see clearly. Everything is… blurry. I am not stepping onto this ice blind.” I touched his arm properly now, gripping just above his elbow. “Is it just now? Did it start today? Or has it been happening recently?” He shook his head once. “Just now. Or maybe the stress made it worse. I do not know,” he muttered. “My eyes feel strained.” I searched his face, even though I knew I couldn’t stare too long or too closely without raising suspicion. “You should have told me they were acting up.”

I said, eyeing him. "Hm?" "Did something get in your eye?" I asked carefully. Just now, when he rolled his eyes, I noticed a grayish-black line running across the whites at the bottom of his eye. I was sure it wasn't a vein or anything natural. Colin rubbed at his eye but didn't seem to feel anything wrong. "It's probably from exhaustion. I didn't sleep well last night." He waved me off, signaling that I could leave. I wondered if he got infected by some kind of parasite on his business trip.

They come at me even faster than before, I have to focus so much as a blur of arm and legs come flying at me in a blur. I'm not fast enough and one of the blows lands on my eyes. I see stars for a few seconds and throw my arms up to block my face incase they try to hit me again as I couldn't see for a second. My right eye now out until it heals I could only see out of one. I could feel something trickle over my now blind eyes.
