“It’s okay, Kas. Just look.” I close my eyes and turn toward the mirror. When I open them, I look closely at myself. There are no bruises or signs that someone attacked me. Aphrodite choking my astral form, didn’t leave bruises on my physical form. I blink to make sure what I am seeing is real. I rub my eye, but it doesn’t go away. I wipe my finger on the mirror, but it’s not dirty. Sure enough, in my left eye, the iris has a distinct fleck of violet in the top right corner.

My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. Shielding my eyes, I moved away a little and tried to blink multiple times to adjust to the bright light it shone with. Blinking I tried to get rid of the tears that soaked my sensitive eyes, and the blurriness that invaded my vision.

No one responds. My vision is blurred, something I'd grown used to. This time it felt different. Like a mist covering my eyes but not touching my skin. I blink several times, waiting for the dizziness that usually accompanies the action. It doesn't come. I hesitate before bringing a hand up to wipe at my eyes. The movement is sluggish; and my arm stings but it doesn't feel heavy. I'd grown used to the heaviness of my own body, I realize. An ache does form, greater than I've felt in awhile. It stretches across the muscles of my arm, accompanying the sting from my healing injury. My eyes hurt as I drag a fist over the lids but my vision clears. Clearer than I've felt in who knows how long.
