She let her head drop to my shoulder and held onto my forearms, melting into my embrace.
"Have you ever heard me call anyone else sweetheart?"
"All the time." I didn't have to see her expression to know she was pouting, and it shouldn't have made me happy, but it did.
"You've never heard me call anyone, not even a child, sweetheart. You may have heard hon, or darlin', or possibly even babe, but not one time, in all my life, have I ever called anyone other than you, sweetheart.
