I look down at the book and start reading about this forbidden god. — The forbidden god, like many other gods, had many names. Many knew him as Hades, many knew him as the brother of Zeus, but he always represented the worship of the moon and the changes it can bring. He represents the darkness in the corners of the earth, the darkness that is always treated as evil when it is just misunderstood. The forbidden god has already been exiled for his many, many crimes. I pause at that point and look up. "What crimes has he committed?"

Then big hands came up breaking away at the ground around the crack, making way for a larger being to come out. “Ares, I don’t know if you… If you have ever met Hades. He’s a God, just like you, so you should have at least heard of him.” I grinned. The look on Ares face said it all. The ground beneath me shook and everyone struggled to stand upright as Hades hooves stomped on the ground coming towards me. “Well, Ryder. It looks like I was right about you. Your energy fed me for two years. I knew it wouldn’t be wise to stand against you. I owe you, kid. Just tell me what to do.”

Lux came running towards where I am situated in front of our mansion-slash-office back in my territory, Inferum, a few miles is my father and mother’s joined territory, Judecca. “Did you go to Hades?” I asked, placing a kiss on his forehead as I took the small brown sack of fruits from his hand. Vivian, a demon servant of mine must’ve taken him to Hades when I was out with Helios, to look for clues. Hades is easily accessible from hell since from what I had heard, our King, Lucifer who governs all of hell was in some kind of a relationship with the Greek God of the Underworld. I heard Hades was a pretty intense guy and Lucifer well… he was pretty laid back.

It was my mate lovingly looking down at me and right beside him stood a man, not just any man but Hades from my nightmares…the lord of the underworld. “Alvaria I would like you to meet my other…Hayes, Odeus Hayes,”

"Are you like Hades?" "I don't know what he is like." "Wait, maybe that's why your name is Hayden! It rhymes with Hades." I said with wide eyes. He just shrugged. "If that makes you happy." He seemed genuine saying that. "All I know is that you died that night. And your soul was still there. On earth."

“I never got your name.” He slowly turned back to the balcony. “Hades.” I couldn’t control the eyebrow that rose up my face. “That’s your name?” “Yes. Not as beautiful as Sofia, but it will do.” “Isn’t that the god of the underworld?” “Yes, to those who believe in Greek mythology. Are you one of those people?” “No. But it’s still an interesting name.”

It did not matter to me, but I was naturally a curious creature. “Remo,” he called out. My Hellhound appeared immediately and stood proudly in front of Jaxon. “Fury. Davina,” he called out. Maddox’s Hellhound appeared and sat next to Maddox. The other hound that appeared took a seat next to Kalen. My eyes turned towards Sansa, and that was when it all clicked. What did Hellhounds and Nabello demons have in common? Hades, the God of the Underworld, created both. For him to be able to call out to Hellhounds that were not his own, he had to have some type of command. For a Nabello demon to bow her head, that connection left me with one conclusion.

I recognized the location immediately. Hades stood at the foot of the stairs that led to his office’s mezzanine. Beside him floated the pane of glass that had trapped Ophois. He was still in his human form, and his handsome features twisted with rage. My jaw clenched, and I swallowed back an insult. It wasn’t like the bastard could hear me. “Fenrisúlfr,” Hades drawled. “I never thought you would recruit the Egyptians to carry out your futile quest. My demons have destroyed Demeter’s root tunnels, and the Opener of the Ways cannot escape my trap. You have run out of options.”

“The Council were seeking for a sixth member after the passing of one of theirs, and decided I qualified to fill in the gap.” “The passing of their member? I thought immortals like them don’t die?” I’d watched Cassian snap Octavia’s neck, only for her to pop it back into place like that was normal. “Everything on this earth is perishable, Darrel.” It was known that Darth was a servant of Hades and if that was true, he should be an enemy to the Council. The Moon goddess and Hades were enemies and had not a single thing in common. While the moon goddess was all about love and happiness, Hades was all about death and malice.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think they were father and son. “So he’s Mordecai's plaything,” I look up at my father. “What does this have to do with anything?” He snatches his phone from me. “It has everything to do with why your brother is still alive. Do I need to spell it out for you?” He doesn’t. It’s clear to me. “My man nearly lost his head getting these pictures,” father says with a heavy sigh. “Mordecai is not a man to be messed with.” Everyone in high society knows that. Mordecai Rhys, famously called Hades. He's the god of the underworld. Elusive, untouchable, and feared. Many influential people seek out his covering and protection, but it’s not something he so easily gives out.
