Season 2 The Librarians Novels & Stories

Chapter – 0007 Damon POV The library was nearly deserted at 10:30 p.m. on a Thursday. Only the desperate and the sleepless remained. I’d come here to dig through old newspaper archives on Professor Lang’s “suicide,” but my mind kept drifting back to Lila. I was scanning microfiche when I heard footsteps. Soft and familiar. Then her scent. Lila appeared at the end of the row, wearing an oversized hoodie and tiny shorts that made her legs look endless.

Liam's POV I glanced at the clock on the library wall. 2:30 PM. The usual silence filled the place, broken only by the quiet rustling of pages and the occasional cough from patrons buried in their books. It was a peaceful moment, the kind I’d grown used to as an ordinary librarian. I sighed, allowing my mind to drift momentarily to Ava. She was probably still at Blackwell Industries, working away, completely unaware of the world I’d hidden from her.

She nodded and disappeared into the labyrinth of bookshelves. Minutes turned into what felt like hours as I anxiously awaited her return. My heart raced with anticipation, mingled with a hint of doubt. What if there was nothing here? What if the answers I sought had vanished into the mists of time? Finally, the librarian reappeared, carrying a weathered box filled with old newspaper clippings and yellowed police reports. She placed it on the table in front of me, cautioning, "These records are quite old and delicate, handle them with care."

Scarlet's POV Weeks passed and I was already used to the new normal. Sharon has made my life very miserable. Gamma Tyler found his mate some weeks ago and I wished she was like Tyler. I don't know why these ladies crave so much power. When she came, she and Sharon clicked quickly. They made it a duty to make life miserable for me. So far, today has been going well. I went to the laundry to collect some of Sharon's clothes. I headed straight to her room to drop them off.

I couldn’t wait to finish the novel and then upload it to Zoodago, the sight where I published my works and had so many loyal readers. As I typed, a sharp voice cut through my concentration. "Humans aren't welcome in this section of the library." I looked up to see a stern-faced librarian glaring down at me. She had on round black glasses and a plastic-looking hairdo pulled back so tightly, I could see the strain around the edges of her face. Her eyes were cold and completely filled with disdain. "Excuse me?" I stammered, taken aback by her hostility. "You heard me," she snapped. "This area is reserved for special students. Not humans."

"We'll be back. Save our seat." We stepped out of our pocket dimension and back into the flowing river of narratives. The journey to the First Library was different this time. We weren't fugitives or teachers. We were… elders. Summoned. The Library itself had changed. It was no longer just a constellation of learning worlds. It was fortified. Gentle narrative shields shimmered around each planetoid, not to keep things out, but to dampen resonance, to make the stories within just slightly harder to perfectly, fatally understand.

“Oh my God… Sam said yes!” Tasha and Marian leaned in, staring at the live stream. “She’s engaged?” Marian gasped. Naomi tapped another clip. “Right in the quad—look at all those people!” A stern Librarian emerged from between the shelves.“Excuse me,” he said quietly, but firmly. “This is a library. If you’re not here to read or study, please leave the hall.” Naomi flushed and tucked her phone away. “Sorry, sir. Of course.”

I always thought the library in Ravenscourt Pack was the biggest I had ever seen but I was proven wrong really fast. The shelves went on and on so that I could barely see where it stopped. There was a staircase leading to another section of the library, several tall ladders placed before the shelves. I filed the location in my head, planning to return and find books regarding the elements. We left the library and headed towards the quarters which I had no intention of seeing. I could almost imagine Sorrel opening a door and finding Alaric buried into another woman, holding my gaze as he reaches climax. I shuddered and shook my head for dispel the memory

The realization made her cheeks warm, a mixture of embarrassment and something softer, more tender. As the afternoon light slanted golden through the library's high windows, Lila found herself looking forward to Saturday with a cautious optimism. Whatever happened, she had a feeling life was about to get a whole lot more interesting. WATCH OUT FOR BOOK 2

It was a smell—the smell of jasmine and old paper. A figure stepped out from the shadows of the library. It wasn't a soldier. It was the Librarian from her visions. But this time, he looked solid. He looked real. “You are early, Faith Nightshade,” the Librarian said. The school is burning, Faith said. “I don't have time for riddles.”
