𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 The silver-handled walking stick lay half-submerged in the gray ooze of the ditch with its polished wood soaking through with thick clay. For forty years, that stick had dictated terms across three continents, but now it was just a piece of debris obstructing the drainage line.
