“Darth Vader’s invading! Run, Princess Leia!” I blinked. “What in the world are you dreaming about?” “Star Wars,” she mumbled sleepily. Then her eyes lit up. “Wait—do you watch Star Wars?” “Nope,” I admitted. “But I had a neighbor who was obsessed with it. He used to narrate the whole story to me.” Gwen grinned. “I knew it. You’ve got major Princess Leia vibes.” I laughed softly. “Me? Leia? That’s a stretch.” “Don’t argue with me—you’re stunning, like a princess. I don’t hand out compliments for free, you know.”

And now it was too late. She swallowed, blinking back tears. A pity she hadn’t been driving faster when her hands had slipped on the steering wheel of her Aston Martin. A pity she hadn’t crashed into a speeding train instead of the postbox. Eleven years of her life were wasted for nothing. Gabriel had managed to keep his company in spite of her stolen documents. He’d tricked her into marrying him. And worst of all, she was pregnant with his child. Her enemy won the war… or perhaps not yet…
