Aza said, her smile returning as she looked back at the cat she was holding.
“I think its owner left it here. Poor thing,” Aza said, feeling a pang of sympathy for the abandoned cat.
“There’s nothing we can do if its owner left it. Maybe he got tired of it. If you’re no longer wanted, you’ll be thrown away like trash,” Onyx said, his voice suddenly serious, causing Aza to turn to him, confused.
“Are you going through something, Onyx? Your words seem loaded with meaning.”
“H-huh? Ahhh, nothing. Put the cat back in the box and let’s go home,” Onyx said, ignoring Aza’s perceptive comment. Aza, however, refused to leave the cat behind, holding it close to her.
