This has not happened in the past years, all the years I have spent on this Earth, no woman has been able to move me in a single day like this, not even Meredith, my supposed mate. I am Lucan Lim, a rich business tycoon and the owner of vast companies scattered around the world. Aside from that I am also a hybrid, a half vampire and a half wolf, the last of my kind in the world and the one who never dies. I have been living like this for so many years in my Life and I lost count of the many women I had turned down. Meredith was a stubborn one and agreed to stick with me forever even when she knew I didn't not have any feelings for her.

Lucian whispered as he began to kiss her jaw with a renewed and frantic energy. "I loved the way you told her that I was your husband and I loved the way you chose me over your own blood. Now that the trash has been taken out I think it is time we go back to our original plan for the day." He began to pull the silk duvet over their heads to create a dark and private world where only the two of them existed and Gwen realized that while she had successfully destroyed her enemies she had also successfully made herself the only thing left in Lucian's universe.

"Chloe's had it worse. The day the collectors showed up, she got into it with one of them, got shoved, and fell down a flight of stairs. Broke her leg." I went still for a second. "Right now, your mom's on her own, trying to take care of your dad and Chloe both, while fielding those collectors on top of it." Nathan shook his head. "She's lost so much weight. It's hard to watch, honestly." I picked up the glass of water on the table and took a sip. Nathan watched me. "Ryan, what are you thinking?" I set the glass down. "I'm not really thinking anything."

My voice was harden “And tell me, why exactly are you here? Wasn’t this supposed to be a father and son meeting, not a meeting with an alleycat?” Her lips stiffened. Before she could retort, Delano’s cheerful voice rang out. “Father!” And then they entered. My brother, his daughter, and his wife. Her. Miriam looked composed, the perfect wife, the perfect mother. But when she sat across from me, the glass cup trembled in her hand as she gulp some water, I saw the crack in her perfect image. Her knuckles whitened as she set the cup down. Her smile to Delano was brittle, lips quivering at the corners.

“Just take her. Do whatever you want with her. She’ll obey. She’s stupidly loyal.” My heart dropped. Another man—Luciano’s voice answered calmly, “So you agree to the shipment exchange? Your wife in place of the payment?” Davin scoffed. “I already said yes. Move her tonight. I don’t care where you send her. As long as my debt clears, she’s yours. She won’t fight back.” My fingers trembled. That wasn’t my husband. That was a stranger. “You’re selling her like cargo,” Luciano said in the recording, almost taunting.

He locked the door and immediately backed me against it, his large body pressing into mine. Despite his injury, his dominance surged forward, dark and possessive. “You did this with me,” he growled, nipping at my neck. “You stood beside me and helped expose them. My strong, fierce wife.” His hand slid under my dress, fingers finding me already wet. He groaned in approval. “Always so ready for Daddy, even in the middle of war.”

I snort, “I don’t want whatever germs you have and quite frankly, I am not interested in this little arrangement that the elders set up.” She blankly stares at me, her arched eyebrows furrowing together, “It’s already been arranged.” She slides her cup to the side, “Are you backing out?” She sits upright, “I can’t, unfortunately.” My lip twitches up into a snarl, “I’m just telling you now…your life will be hell, you’ll be alone and I frankly won’t ever care about a hair on your body.” I lean back, shrugging. “You know what…I heard about you, the Lycan Alpha who is fair, but that turned into fear. The night started off so well. Infact, the whole day beginning from last night. Well, that is until now. I knew something was up immediately I saw Lucia's expression when she came out of the restroom. There was just something different about it from when she went in at first. But hearing the words coming out of her mouth tonight has my thoughts spiralling. I have no doubt that Anna… crazy crazy Anna ambushed my wife in there and put thoughts in her head. And I can't blame Lucia for her reaction. Just looking at her breaks something in me. There's nothing but hurt on her face, and it kills me to think that I'm the cause of it.

My face was pale as I turned to leave. The abortion medicine slid down my throat and into my stomach. The pain in my abdomen was excruciating. I could clearly feel the warm blood streaming down my legs. I took out my phone with trembling hands. Just as I was about to call an ambulance, Alana suddenly appeared and slapped the phone to the ground. "You want to go to the hospital? In your dreams! I won't allow a wretch like you to ruin the Greenwood family's bloodline! You can forget about ever giving birth to a child!"

His pitch black eyes bore directly into Vivienne's terrified face with the absolute, freezing void of an executioner. "My wife," Lucian growled, his voice a demonic, suffocating whisper that carried perfectly through the dead silent ballroom, "does not want to be one of you. Because from this exact second forward, she completely owns you." Vivienne's face drained of all blood. She shrank entirely under the crushing weight of his dominance. "If you ever step within ten feet of her again," Lucian vowed coldly, "I will not just buy your family's legacy. I will entirely erase the Kensington name from the history of this country. Walk away."
