The Chronicles Of Narnia Novels & Stories

Zane's consciousness drifted in and out, his mind swimming through layers of disjointed dreams before he was abruptly pulled into reality. His eyelids felt like lead, resisting his efforts to open them. The first thing he registered was the realization that he was back in the year 1025, the Kangyu Dynasty. The scent of medicinal herbs lingered in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of polished wood and incense. The second was the way a sword was unceremoniously shoved against his throat.

That’s when she figured that Isabella wasn’t from here. “You must be from another time period.“ “What do you mean?” “The thing you messed with wasn’t an hourglass. It was a witching glass.” “A witching what?” “The thing you called an hourglass. I read about it in my mothers’ books. It's an hourglass that’s been enchanted to control time. This item allows a person to travel between the past, the present, and the future.” “So, am I in the past?” “Yes.” “What year is it?”

“Every ruler before me left traces of their history here. Wars, alliances, prophecies all recorded. But some truths were meant to stay buried.” Sebastian glanced around at the towering shelves. “Then let’s wake them.” Aria trailed her fingers along the spines of the oldest books. They seemed to hum faintly at her touch, reacting as if they recognized her. Finally, she stopped at a thick, leather-bound tome etched with faint silver patterns. “What’s this one?” she asked. Seraphina’s eyes widened slightly. “That’s the oldest of them all The Chronicle of the Silver Howl. No one has opened it in a long time.”

I nod and pick up The Chronicles of Narnia. “Great choice—that’s one of my favorites,” Ethan says, winking as he leans back against the couch, completely at ease. I get lost in the story, the words pulling me in, until soft snores make me realize Ethan has dozed off beside me. I shake my head with a quiet laugh, set the book aside, and drape a blanket over him. I can’t help but smile, making sure he’s comfortable… until my wolf butts in, whispering, “I wish Ethan could’ve been our fated mate...”

The scenario turned awkward, and the tension built just watching it unfold. “Did I ask something wrong?” “No,” he answered. “I lead them like an alpha, but I'm not an alpha. In the early days when the curse began in families, some had crescent moons as their mark. The alphas get a full moon. That hasn't happened in over ten generations.” “But wolves still need a leader,” Orion chipped in. “That's why Mr Franklin, being the one with more experience, is doing that for us.” “Are we done lecturing the newbie so we can get back to business at hand?” Cameron spoke impatiently.
