I nod and pick up The Chronicles of Narnia. “Great choice—that’s one of my favorites,” Ethan says, winking as he leans back against the couch, completely at ease. I get lost in the story, the words pulling me in, until soft snores make me realize Ethan has dozed off beside me. I shake my head with a quiet laugh, set the book aside, and drape a blanket over him. I can’t help but smile, making sure he’s comfortable… until my wolf butts in, whispering, “I wish Ethan could’ve been our fated mate...”
