The Chronicles Of Narnia Novels & Stories

My eyes landed on the wooden slate which read; Wars Of Werewolves. Not my cup of tea. I moved further as I traced another slate with my fingers. "Chronicles of Reynes." I read out the words that were written on the slate. I scanned every slate. Descendants of Moon. The curse. Slaves of Sun. 10th-century shapeshifters. Finally, I read out the words I was finding. "History," I whispered as a smile curved on my lips. I quickly rushed towards the shelf but halted as I saw the number of books it contained.

Much like he'd looked as he had stood on Carrie's porch watching the clouds slowly travel across the sky while calmly sipping his coffee despite the chaos going on around him. Ben returned carrying a load of books in his arms. He heaved the heavy books onto the table before me. I looked down and was surprised at what I saw there. I didn’t know what I had expected. With all that had happened, I had envisioned fantasies of witchcraft, vampirism, mutants, and numerous other explanations involving mythological figures but this I hadn’t anticipated. At the very top of the considerable pile of books lay the King James Bible. “Just the tip of the iceberg, baby.” Richard said as he looked at me and

Creatures that wanted nothing but war and ruin. I approach the door and place a hand on one of the handles and open it gently, trying not to make a sound. I spend my effort in vain as the hinges creak and the echo reverberates off the walls, making everyone within the corridor know that someone is opening the council door and those within the council room, aware that someone is shamefully late. I step into the room, heat stirring the blood in the sides of my face, and turn to close the door. I take some time to compose myself before committing my face to the council, which at present comprises my older half-brother, Valark, the Army Commander, Gunther, and the King, our Alpha.

Why did they seek to wipe us from the face of the earth? My thoughts were cut short as the creature closed in on me, raising its axe to deliver the final blow. My legs gave out, and I collapsed to the ground, breathless and beaten. I fumbled for the emblem my mother had given me, the last line of defense against these hunters. But it was too late. The weapon was already upon me, ready to strike. And then, darkness consumed me. * * * *

Emery woke up in her makeshift home having no idea what the day would hold. She was starting to wonder why she of all people was the one who was here in the forest and on this quest. As she went out to the kitchen to make herself breakfast she found a note that read: there are four rare and magical creatures you must find if you want to win the battles that lie ahead. First you must find a cyclops he will tell you what to do next.

Eventually, with my arms full, I found Nicholas still in the fantasy section. He was engrossed in a thick hardcover, his brow furrowed in concentration. “Find something good?” I asked, approaching him. “Possibly. But I think you might like this one.” He handed me a paperback with an image of a woman wielding a sword on the front. I read the title aloud. “‘The Lycan Chronicles.’ Hmm, never heard of it.” “It’s a fantasy series,” he explained, still flipping through his own book. “Great world-building, complex characters...” He glanced up and smirked. “Plus, it has some... steamy scenes.”

The wind howled through the mountain pass, biting through our cloaks like unseen claws. Dawn had barely touched the horizon when we set out, the remnants of sleep clinging to our limbs like chains. The Temple of the Hollow lay far beyond the valleys, nestled in the heart of a cursed land where even the most fearless hunters dared not tread. I walked at the front, my body sore, my mind heavier than ever. The weight of the Crown’s power still clung to me, whispering just beneath my skin. The voice I had heard during the battle echoed in my skull—The vessel must feed.

I never got used to the strange eye color of the Lunous, and after hearing Macy's story, I doubt I ever will. The crowd erupts in applause, and the announcer retreats as the two girls enter the arena. They appear to circle each other before settling into their positions in the pit. Bronte's dark skin glints in the sunlight, and Cynthia's silver eyes look so piercing that they give me chills. After a few tense moments of stillness, the two transform into their wolf, and a loud roar breaks the tension as they fight in combat. The Lunous girl, Cynthia, utilizes her heightened speed to go straight for Bronte's dark-furred neck, and it's immediately clear who will win.

Zane's consciousness drifted in and out, his mind swimming through layers of disjointed dreams before he was abruptly pulled into reality. His eyelids felt like lead, resisting his efforts to open them. The first thing he registered was the realization that he was back in the year 1025, the Kangyu Dynasty. The scent of medicinal herbs lingered in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of polished wood and incense. The second was the way a sword was unceremoniously shoved against his throat.

That’s when she figured that Isabella wasn’t from here. “You must be from another time period.“ “What do you mean?” “The thing you messed with wasn’t an hourglass. It was a witching glass.” “A witching what?” “The thing you called an hourglass. I read about it in my mothers’ books. It's an hourglass that’s been enchanted to control time. This item allows a person to travel between the past, the present, and the future.” “So, am I in the past?” “Yes.” “What year is it?”
