His gaze drifted over us, calm but sharp enough to make my hands tremble at my sides.
Jace was called first. He stepped forward, shoulders straight, trying not to show how tense he was. Lucian didn’t even lift a weapon. He only watched, waited. When Jace charged, the King moved once, quick and precise, and Jace was flat on the ground in seconds.
The others shifted uneasily. No one wanted to be next.
Kellan lasted longer. His speed worked in his favor, but Lucian’s movements were too clean, too controlled. One step, one block, one turn, and Kellan was disarmed.
