I want to have the same relation with Ella. I want to grow old with her and love her in the same way, just like my father does to my mother.

“What did I ever do to deserve this treatment from you?” I exhale, tilting my head slightly. “Your father is the reason I treat you the way I do,” I tell her simply. “He treats me like this, so I treat you like that.” She shakes her head violently. “No,” she says. “You don’t. You treat me like this, not because of the way my father treats you, but because you’re a horrible man.” Her voice is low and biting. “You’re just like him, your father. Created in his fucking image and likeness.”
