Little Emily
She’d been distant lately, and I was eager to find out why.
When we arrived, Emma’s house looked the same as always, a cozy two-story with a well-kept garden. We walked up to the front door, and Tony rang the bell. Emma answered almost immediately, her face lighting up when she saw us.
"Emily! Tony! Come in," she said, stepping aside to let us in.
"Hey, Em. It’s been too long," I said, hugging her tightly.
"Yeah, it has. Come on, let’s go to my room," she said, leading the way upstairs. As we passed the living room, Emma’s older brother, Clinton, glanced up from his book.
