Growing up, at a younger age my mom would tell me her romantic story of how she and dad met. I fell in love with their love story and would beg her to tell me every night before going to bed. I love her story so much that I could not wait to one day be old enough to find my one true mate; that every full moon, I would stare through my bedroom window and watch excitedly wolves and she-wolves being wandered off into the dark, having only the bright light of the full moon to guide them. Seeing them, I was even more anxious to turn eighteen and to too meet my next half. The wolf, the moon goddess has blessed me with to spend my entire life with.

Elijah's eyes were fixed on the starless night sky, the moon brighter than he remembered. "Full moon," Za spoke, and the little devil looked at him. "Have they told you what happens when there's a full moon?" he asked, but the other denied it. "It's a very old story, to tell the truth. But it's very true," he began to say as they pulled off the road and entered a small shortcut. "More than 500 years ago, it was said everywhere you went that every full moon, an unscrupulous animal attacked every human being that didn't have any security during the nights. It is said that when the moon shone brighter than the stars around it, that animal with huge ears and a long jaw appeared because it was hi

Let’s save this for another day, would everyone agree?” After a pondering pause, all heads nodded in agreement. “Now, I have a story to tell.” He scooped a blue powder and tossed it into the bonfire. “Once upon a time….” The flame burst again, but this time, fiery images of animals, humans, and landscapes appeared. My mom always told me it was the constellation of a great hunter. And there—that's Cassiopeia. She was a queen who was punished for her vanity." Hayden hummed in interest. "And that one?" He gestured toward another cluster of stars. I smiled. "That's Cygnus, the swan. There are different myths about it, but my mom always told me the version where the swan was a loyal friend. It reminded her of how true friends stands the test of time."

"My story can wait." "No, it's fine," Kira said, giving him a soft smile. "Just tell me the story, and it better be one with a happy ending." "I'll try," Baba Razz said, laughing softly. I need to feel something other than the fear of being alone. "She and Dayan are almost here. She said he's her mate, and he's a lion. I guess they ran into some trouble at the storage unit. Lindy said she'll explain when she gets here." Wow, four of us are mated to misfits. I wonder if there are any more mates here. I hear the sound of approaching bikes and sigh in relief. Lindy and I graduated from nursing school together, so we're pretty close. I can't wait to tell her I met my mate too.
