Sasha's P.O.V.My body is in so much pain that I want to scream, but I don't think I can. Everything is black. Am I dead? No, that can't be right. If I was, I wouldn't be in so much pain. The only thing that doesn't hurt is my right hand. Something warm is holding it and sending little sparks up my arm. Who is that person talking? I can tell it's a man, but I don't know who it is. The voice is deep and soothing; it makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a warm blanket.Where am I? I try to remember what happened. I was walking home from work, and something happened. Oh, no! The two men. They pulled me into the alley and raped me. When I tried to fight them, they knocked me out. I have to tell someone. The man with me, I know he isn't one of them because the voice of one of my attackers was high and nasally, and the other was soft. I don't think they were more than eighteen or nineteen.I need to open my eyes. I need to tell the police what happened and find out who this man is beside me. E

Tatum's P.O.V.I can't believe I have my mate in the car with me going to my apartment. I talked to her the entire time I sat with her in the hospital, hoping she could hear me and would get used to my voice. When she woke up and said I made her feel safe, I almost started crying with happiness. After everything she's been through, my presence comforted her. I'm sure it's because of the mate bond, but I find it encouraging and hope that means she'll accept me.When we pull up to my building she looks out the window with widened eyes.
