“Peekaboo?” Atlas said, and I blinked.
“Yeah?”
“Are you listening?” He asked, examining my face. “What happened?”
I stared at him for a moment. Atlas was busy risking everything for me. I couldn’t distract or make him worry.
Besides, it was Lovie. She was all bark and no bite anyway.
So, Instead of speaking, I silenced him with a kiss, pulling away so he could catch his breath.

“I’m fine, Atlas.” I lied. “Inmates can be crazy at times,”
The dark-haired man stared at me for a few seconds before sighing. “I’ll get you out of here,” he promised.
“We have the best lawyers and they are trying to appeal and get a hearing date,” he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear before whispering.
“Please hang on,” he begged and I smiled, leaning against him. The sound of his heartbeat lulled me into comfort.
“As for these,” he said, probably referring to my bruises. “I don’t care if I have to sue the president. They will held accountable for this,”
