SAM'S POV Thoughtfully and carefully, I picked the book again and side-stepped him, moving to the other side of the bed, all while his eyes followed my every movement. "You better get used to having me around, I will not be thrown away so easily. Also, do me a favour and pass the same words to Malthus if you can." I squinted my questionable eyes at him before turning my attention back to the book. I need to see if Celeste's father had written on how to get rid of Malthus. Like pieces of a puzzle, everything had fallen into place after reading the Journal. Celeste's father's warning her about an ancient Lord of werewolves who would come after her seemed to have answered all our questions and curiosity. Coupled with the fact that he mentioned he would attach himself to someone close to her if he couldn't get to her directly, protected by her powers. That only meant one thing and needed no further explanation. Said Lord is currently lurking somewhere in Killian's body, and we need to
SAM’S POV“Let me.” I seized the book from Killian’s trembling hands. Don’t know if it’s the aftermath of his blowup, but he seemed a bit slower at everything now. He groaned under his breath but didn’t attempt to take the book back. I sat on the bed before I dove in, somehow anticipating something that would blow my mind even though I have no idea what it contains past the first page. Killian lingered above me, still standing while I went through the insanely thick paper of every page. The second page more or less contained what I could only describe as an introduction; he was explaining to Celeste what power she possessed. “The Lunaris power isn’t something to be messed with, it isn’t something to take lightly as well.” It says. “You are powerful, and although you haven’t realized it yet, you will. I am writing to guide you as I might not be around when you reach your full potential.” “Let’s keep this back, man, this is her personal stuff.” Killian attempted to pull away the book
KILLIAN’S POVSam glared at me from where he stood by the door, neither walking into the room nor out of it. Then he stated without batting an eyelash. “I want to become the Alpha, and all but that doesn't mean I am stupid enough to kill you. That will certainly disqualify me from ruling. If that is your plan, then you have to be more strategic next time; this isn’t working.” He rolled his eyes at the end of his statement and strolled into the room, picking items off the floor and dropping them where they belonged as he moved close to me. I created more distance between us, terrified he would get close enough to provoke whatever was wrong with me to start up again. “Are you going to continue running away? I hope you realize that won’t solve anything. The earlier you let yourself get help, the faster you will get over this stuff and stop the elders from coming after you. If you are choosing to isolate yourself, that works perfectly well for me. That will be in my favour.” He shrugge
KILLIAN'S POVI was possessed by a witch. How? I have no fucking idea.I felt ashamed. To have your entire existence possessed by something vile, something mad, which can take over and control you at any time was horrible. I refused to be around anyone. Especially not Celeste, scared that it might hurt her in the process. She had knocked on the door to her room for more than an hour, but I refused to let her in. I locked myself in here and let whatever it was, unleash its fury at the room and not my mate.It hurt to shut her out, but at the moment, and not until I find a way to get rid of it, that's the best thing to do. Keep myself away from her and everyone I l
JEREMY'S POVThis wasn't the plan. The witches, after getting what they wanted, have been going against everything we have agreed on without hesitation. For instance, it was in our agreement that they weren't going to attack anyone in the pack but Killian. They have bridged that. They went ahead and attacked some lone, defenseless wolves that were roaming the border at an odd hour. Why did they do that? They weren't giving me reasons and had simply dismissed any act of mine trying to remind them of our agreement. Only then did I realize that getting involved with these people without a backup plan might be a bad idea. They not only want to take Killian down, they want to take over the pack. I don't want that, I don't want to be ruled by creatures of the night. So I decided, on my own, that I was going to come up with a second plan just in case that one fails. The first step is to get werewolves by my side, just as they have each other. And what's the best way to do that if not to g
KILLIAN'S POVWith each passing day, these witches made me loathe them even more. I did not go deep into this to realize that this is their work. They have somehow smuggled their way into my pack and were using that opportunity to try and torment not only me, but my mate. "Listen, Celeste, I will try and keep him distracted, I want you to run, lose him. This is all an illusion, and the minute he can't control what you see, it will all fade away, do you understand?" Luckily, I managed to cushion her fall, and she didn't sustain any major injury. She shook her head vigorously. "I am not leaving you here, I can't. It's not right." "I told you it's an illusion. No one is getting hurt, and we will all be fine by the time we break out of his spell. Please trust me, okay?" This time, she nodded hesitantly, and I helped her up. "Head as far away from us as you can. The minute he can't control what you see, that's it. I will also get myself out after you have successfully gotten away." I g
