Scarlet’s POV
Dante didn’t come home for a whole week. At first, I tried to inquire. I asked one of the soldiers if something had happened, if he was alright. The soldier explained politely that Alpha Dante had been buried under a mountain of work. When he had gone to Bloomoon for negotiations, the responsibilities of his own pack had piled up in his absence, and now he was trying to catch up.
Moreover, he told me that the Alpha had been summoned to the capital regarding the new territory he had secured after removing the rogues. At first, I thought it was just a formality—after all, Dante had risked so much to cleanse that territory. But then I heard whispers that the newly granted land was hiding something far more valuable: a gold mine. When news of the gold spread to the capital, it caused chaos.
