"What's going to happen because it seems to me that he hates her?" She managed to ask.

"I'm sorry, but Lycan Xandros is looking for something that can contain his bottled anger and I believe you are that tool who can help."

"And in the process I'll be damaged," Anna couldn't help but say that.

"I care a lot less about what happens to you, because you have been bought. You are his property now, so focus on obeying his commands. I'll be back at morning time, so get lots of rest. It'll be helpful."

Diane got out of the room, closing the door behind her. They didn't even lock the door, knowing that she couldn't make an attempt to escape. Anna walked to the window, her face pale, her eyes glassy as she stared across the wide span of land and the men who patrolled round it.

CCTVs were everywhere and it would be a stupid action to do anything that could put her in trouble. She put her hand inside the black robe she had been given and fished out her phone, turning it on. They had a rule of turning their phones off before going for the stripping.

Omegas were like slaves....no, they were slaves. Being passed down and passed down from masters until they can no longer work and are killed. Just like other omegas, Anna's parents had worked and died for a particular conglomerate family and she had done the same until they had no use for her anymore and Candy was opportuned to get her.

Knowing every single thing that happens in Abaddon, she didn't want to come but she had no choice as a price was already on her head.

They sold people. Made them look less than human and after everything she had passed through the past few months, she was finally being sold into the household of Khaos, a name given for the manor belonging to Xandros.

She would prefer to be a slave than to be a property someone simply owned. But she didn't know what would happen in the future. At least, no one had ever tried to take advantage of her before. She prayed earnestly that wouldn't happen here.

A message dropped in the moment her phone got it's network back and Anna clicked it.

*I was bought as a slave.*

It was a message from Sandra and Anna's lips curved upwards in a slight smile. She was genuinely happy for Sandra but no one in her condition would have a bright smile right now.

*I'm really glad for you.* She didn't bother mincing words. That had been always how she spoke. Saying exactly what she really meant and Sandra knew that.

*The place is not that bad and I could visit you sometimes.* Sandra replied almost immediately like she had been waiting for Anna's reply.

Anna's heart warmed. Even in her own problems, Sandra still cared about her.

*Where I am right now, Sandra, isn't where you would want to visit. But, I will be fine.*

Sandra didn't give a reply for a long time and Anna thought she was busy already, so she dropped the phone on the bed and walked into the bathroom.

The walls looked glassy, a bathroom of luxury, only fit for queens. Sadly, she was not a queen. She was just someone used to replace another person.

Bile formed in her throat and Anna took a huge gulp, her eyes widening as she fought back the tears that threatened to spill. She had never cried when she was in situations in the past, she would not cry now.

She turned on the shower and stood under it for a long time, the cold water that left it reannounced to her, reality, and the predicament she really found herself in.

She would get out of here.

The decision was final.

She walked to her phone after a long time of staying under the shower, and she picked it off.

*I'll like to see you alive. Don't die, Anna, no matter what.*

Sandra was like the family she didn't have. A sister, a friend and a whole lot more with a plus on top. For Sandra, she had to live. She didn't know how she would do that, but she would.

The sound of the door knob distracted her and she turned towards the door. Diane was back.

"Did you have a good rest?" She asked.

"It's not yet morning time." Anna said.

"It is 5 am right now." Diane glanced at her watch while Anna looked at her phone.

How many hours had she spent under the shower?

Looking at Sandra's message, it read three hours ago. She had stayed underneath the shower for that long?

"Come outside." Diane nodded her head outside and Anna took a deep steady breath, dropping her phone as she followed after Diane.

***

"Legs."

"Arms." The hardness of the fan was felt against her back and she bit her lips, holding the pain in.

"Widen them!" Diane said, the creases on her face looking worse than Candy's. Just that, hers looked good on her while Candy's looked awful because she always frowned.

"Stretch them out. Stand straight-" A hit on the upper and lower parts of her back in succession made Anna's eyes water. The woman was literally killing her with those fan hits.

"What is wrong with you!" Diane gave out a frustrated look, "You stripped so what exactly is wrong here!? Why aren't you doing this properly!?" She shot, her eyes sinking in with pure anger.

"If you need me to strip for him, I'll do that. What exactly are this trainings for?"

"You can't! You are not just good enough and without this, you'll never be good enough, Athena."

"Anna!"

"Athena!" Diane gave her a smack on the buttocks with the fan and Anna staggered forward, the pain hitting her sharper than the others had. Her eyes stinged with unshed tears.

Diane placed the fan under her jaw, raising her head up and forcing her to look into her eyes. Years of practice had hardened her look.

"You don't have a choice here, Anna. First, you are an omega. Second, you have been bought, lower than a slave. Third, you are a lowly stripper and lastly, you are now Athena. The woman he hates. " She eyed her skillfully, "Sadly, life hadn't passed any candy to you so just make do with your bread crumbs. You listen to us here, we don't listen to you."

Diane let her chin go and she walked around her, hitting the fan on her palm rhythmically while Anna resumed her position with a renewed knowledge of what life had packaged for her.

"Bend when he tells you to. Suck if he wants it. Kneel if you have to, Athena, and never cry." Diane stopped in her front, staring at her glassy eyes and Anna blinked back her tears, "If you fail to get pregnant, it's your fault. You have a problem, not him! Do you get that!?"

"I do." An almost silent agreement escaped her lips.

Anna stood before the mirror, hands trembling slightly as she touched the fabric of her dress. It was red—deep, warm, almost the color of dried petals or freshly spilled wine. It wasn’t what most brides would wear, and that was exactly why she chose it. White was for innocence. For clean slates. For stories that hadn’t yet begun. But hers had already been written in fire, blood, and love. In betrayal, in trials and many other things. The dress clung to her in the right places, her protruding stomach showing visibly, before it gave way to a wide bundle from her thighs downwards."You look pretty," Sandra said behind her."Do you think Xandros would like the dress?""Why wouldn't he? Every color looks right on you." Sandra said as she ran her hands over the necklaces on the table and then she picked the one with the name, Anna."Xandros gave me that,""Shows." Sandra grinned widely as she walked behind Anna and helped her fix the necklace."O M G." Wyatt rushed into the room, with Anita

“I don’t like it,” the old wolf muttered.Xandros didn’t even glance his way. “You don’t have to like it. You just have to stand there and keep your mouth shut.”Korin grumbled, folding his arms, his gray beard twitching. “The witches burned my great grand uncle’s territory. Twice.”“And wolves tore my grandmother's sister in half,” Gaelle snapped from the opposite side of the field, where the witches had gathered beneath the oaks. “So if you want to count bodies, we’ll be here all night.”Anna sighed and stepped between them, her shoes crunching on the dry grass. “This isn’t about who bled more.”“It should be,” Korin muttered.“No. That’s why it always falls apart,” Anna said, softer now. “We keep trying to measure suffering instead of ending it.”There was a long, heavy pause.Around them, witches in layered robes murmured to one another. Wolves stood in half-circles, tense and watchful. Most looked uncomfortable—none had put away their distrust yet, even if they’d left their weapo

Gaia’s house wasn’t grand, large or ostentatious. It wasn't even up to half of the land Khaos took. Neither was the building as big as even the library at Khaos. It was hidden in the woods where the trees grew thick and the wind smelled like damp moss and wild herbs. The gravel path crunched beneath their shoes as they approached, and Sandra felt something shift in her chest. She couldn’t explain it, but it was as though the land itself recognized her presence. It felt like home. Comfy. And secure. So close she could practically feel the warmth seeping into her skin.“This is yours?” she asked softly as Gaia opened the door with a simple twist of his wrist. He nodded, stepping aside for her to enter. “Built it myself. Every stone, every plank.”"You built it?" She gasped."Yep. There was no wars during those times and I had nothing to do as Xandros's beta."Sandra paused just inside the threshold. The house was warm and quiet. Not just quiet in sound, but quiet in energy. The kind o

The lodge nestled deep within the territories was as far from the hospital and Khaos as the moon was from the sea. Built of stone and cedar, it breathed with warmth and quiet, surrounded by thick pines and the steady whisper of a stream just beyond the hill. No one approached without permission. Nobody came unless summoned. No guards posted nearby. Here, there were no enemies, no threats, only silence, and time.Anna leaned against the balcony railing, wrapped in a soft robe that smelled of lavender and mountain mint. The wind was gentle tonight, teasing strands of her dark hair across her cheek. She let it. Her skin still ached where Kalista’s magic had burned through her, but the pain no longer felt like it belonged to her, it was fading, piece by piece, along with the weight of that long, terrible battle.Inside, the lodge flickered with low candlelight. Runes carved into the beams pulsed softly, woven there by the witch council and Anita to protect the child in her womb. The baby

The dust had barely settled. The hallway that had once echoed with medical chatter and squeaky wheels now stood in eerie silence—scorched, half-collapsed, with crackling fluorescent lights hanging like vines from the ceiling. The tiled floor was smeared with blood, some of it black with magic, some still steaming where Kalista had bled and burned.Anna lay cradled in Xandros’s arms at the far end of the corridor, both of them surrounded by the aftermath of war.The beast had not left him.Though his claws had retracted and fur vanished, Xandros still breathed like the wolf. Chest rising and falling in deep, uneven gulps. His shoulders trembled, not with weakness, but with the savage intensity of barely-contained instinct. The moment the doctors rounded the corner, responding to the emergency alarms. He turned.Snarled.And they froze. There were five of them. A trauma team in white coats, rubber-soled shoes, and blue gloves. None of them looked older than forty. Not one dared take ano

Anna’s body trembled with the aftershock of the blast. Smoke hung thick in the air. Xandros lay crumpled against a bent hospital bed, blood trailing from the corner of his mouth. His Lycan form was retreating beneath torn flesh, unconscious and unmoving. And Kalista turned to her.She floated several feet above the floor now, her robes curling like smoke, her fingers crackling with malignant magic.“Now,” Kalista said, her voice like crushed velvet, “it’s just us.”Anna’s feet moved before her mind did. Her body shifted into a battle stance her modern self didn’t recognize, but her soul remembered. Even the ache of her womb dulled in the face of rising, buried power. Her breath calmed. She had never fought Kalista in this life. But Zaekyr had, once. She remembered.Kalista’s smile faded. “You still reek of fear.”Anna raised her chin. “Not fear. Memory.”“You’re not Zaekyr,” Kalista snapped, her voice echoing unnaturally. “She’s dust. A footnote. You’re just a frightened little girl
