The nurses pumped and poked Laurel full of injections while Olivia and Desmond watched in silence and slight horror. The little girl was fast asleep, while receiving several medications. Her hair was thinning out very fast and her skin was only getting paler. From the look of it, Laurel was not getting any better.
“This is not right.” Olivia spoke to Desmond, who sat in an arm chair, watching the nurses attend to Laurel. “She does not look good at all.” Olivia said, gesturing towards the sick child.
“Yeah, that is because she has stage four cancer.” Desmond replied. “She’s very ill.” He stated the obvious.
Olivia moved to stand in front of him. “She is not getting any better, can’t you see that?” She asked, frustrated.
