Anna's POV
I jolted awake with a lurch.
"Argh!" I gasped in shock as my naked elbows slammed against bare floor. I rolled onto my back, tears stinging my eyes.
The room was cold, I realized suddenly. Rubbing up and down my arms vigorously, I sat up and looked around. It was empty save for the cold slab I just fell from and the wall of bottles.The lighting in the room was muted even though I couldn't see any light source. I couldn't find a window either - or a door.
Where was Josie?
My last memory was of the floating lady who had promised to get me to Josie. Then for some reason, I'd been in pain - and then nothing.
"Hey! Let me out!" I bellowed at the top of my lungs.
I had to shout two more times before the wall separated and a girl wearing a white skirt and strapless crop top walked in.
"Hey, you're awake," she murmured with a smile as she walked on bare feet towards me. "I'm Anise. What's your name?"
