As the group emerged from the cavern, the sun was low on the horizon, illuminating them with warm orange and gold hues. Breathing heavily from tiredness and the weight of what they had just gone through, none of them spoke for a minute. A bird's distant call disturbed the stillness, serving as a sobering reminder that life went on after their terrifying experience.

Zara glanced around at her friends, observing the fatigue on their features. As a result of his valour throughout the battle, Kael's armour was dented and burnt. The bolts that remained in Lyra's quiver, which was almost empty, were evidence of her accuracy. Doran's customary assurance had given way to an unusual solemnity, and Elara's hands were covered with blood, some of it hers and others not.

With a hard yet gentle tone, Kael stated, "We need to rest."

Zara gave a nod. "Just ahead is a clearing. There, we can reassemble.
