Clairessa’s POV

After soaking for what felt like hours, I finally stepped out of the tub.

The warmth lingered on my skin as I wrapped the towel around my body and padded back into the bedroom.

Everything Adrian brought was neatly folded on the bed. I dried off slowly, then changed into his oversized T-shirt and shorts.

They were loose, soft, and comforting in a strange way. They smelled like Adrian—his masculine scent, not too strong.

Like the warmth I used to know.

Warmth I no longer trusted.

I sat at the edge of the bed, hair damp and skin tingling from the heat of the bath.

The silence grew heavier, pressing down on me, suffocating my insides.

And that’s when it hit me hard.

My life had crashed to an all-time low in less than twenty-four hours.

The walls felt like they were closing in, the ceiling pressing down, making it hard to breathe.

I needed someone.

I needed to hear a familiar, warm voice—someone who knew me, who would listen and understand.

Someone who saw

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 225: I Can Smell Your Arousal

Gabriel’s POV I was seated at the long dining table, surrounded by handpicked guests, including business partners, old allies, and a few close friends Randolph insisted on entertaining. It was supposed to be an intimate dinner. A warm-up for the ridiculous birthday weekend he had planned. But Randolph wouldn’t shut up. He was in full host mode, telling jokes, sipping his wine, laughing loud enough to rattle the damn walls. His excitement over the coming celebration was written all over his face. I’d give him that, he loved the spotlight. My eyes scanned the table. Nicole sat directly across, wearing something too tight and too red, already pretending she was the main attraction. Adrian sat beside her, jaw set, pretending to care about Randolph’s monologue. Maybe he was finally ready to step up. Redeem himself in his father’s eyes. Good. But none of them mattered. Because the seat beside me—was still empty. Clairessa wasn’t here. I tightened my grip around my wine glass, ja

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 224: I'm Never Letting You Go

Clairessa’s POV The car hadn’t even stopped before Nicole had her face pressed against the window, buzzing with excitement. The second we stepped out, I had to admit—it was impressive. The kind of resort where the super-rich came to disappear for a weekend and blow off steam. Nicole gasped beside me. “Oh my God. This place is gorgeous! I mean—finally! I’ve always wanted to come on one of these trips.” I didn’t respond. I was too busy watching Adrian, who was oddly quiet beside her. Normally, he’d have something smug or self-important to say. But now? Silence. And for once, I hoped he’d stay that way. Nicole, of course, kept going. “Ugh, I swear, Claire. You always get picked for these things with Gabriel. You’re like, his star girl,” she said with a fake laugh. Then, under her breath, loud enough for me to hear: “Thank God he finally added me to one. I was starting to think I needed to do special favors to get selected too.” I stopped mid-step and threw her a warning glare.

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 223: Surrending To The Fire Between Us

CLAIRESSA’S POVGabriel was right.God, I hated that he was right.I couldn’t keep pretending nothing had happened between us—not after last night, not after what almost happened on the porch if Adrian hadn’t walked in. This fire between us wasn’t something I could just brush under the rug and keep walking. It shook me—to my core. And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t outrun it.I hadn’t been able to focus on anything since it happened. And maybe, yeah—I wanted him to sweat. To feel even a fraction of what I felt when he left me... when he handed me off like I was something to be passed down. But now, as my eyes searched his—caught the anguish etched across his face and heard the raw, unfiltered pain in his voice when he said we needed to talk—something inside me melted. He was watching me—those eyes dark, waiting, tense, like he was bracing for another blow. Ready to fight if I pushed him away again. For the first time in what felt like forever, I let my walls fall.“Gabriel…” I

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 222: You Can't Run From This

Gabriel’s POV Lunch with Randolph was the last thing I wanted after everything that had gone down at home. We weren’t friends. We talked when necessary—during meetings, contracts, deals. That was the extent of it. But after the recent signing, he insisted we celebrate. Claimed he had a spot. Some overpriced restaurant uptown. I hadn’t even bothered to check the name. He was already seated when I arrived, grinning like we were old college buddies. Clearly riding high on the deal. “Gabriel,” he said, lifting his glass. “Look at us—partners in crime. Congratulations again on sealing the deal.” I gave a short nod and took my seat. “Suppose we have you to thank for the final push.” He chuckled. “You’re too modest. It’s a win on both ends.” He kept talking—rollout plans, future partnerships, maybe a European expansion. I tried to follow. But my head wasn’t here. It was with her. Clairessa. I let her take control. Let her lead. A liberty I hadn’t given any woman in years. But my

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 221: We Both Floated

Clairessa’s POVMy phone buzzed.Jess: I’m outside.Outside? I blinked, frowning. Outside where? She never said she was coming over.Another ping.Jess: At the door.I shot upright in bed, blinking like I’d misread the screen. She was here? Now?What the hell?Grabbing my phone, I immediately hit call. “Jess?!”Her voice came through the speaker, full of excitement. “Oh my God, Claire. I know I came here last night, but I didn’t realize how beautiful this place was. Seeing it in the daylight? It’s actually insane.”I tossed the covers off and padded toward the bedroom door, still in disbelief. “What are you doing here?”“Obviously checking on you,” she replied, like it was the most natural thing in the world. “After everything with Adrian last night—and Gabriel’s emotionally constipated drama—you think I’d wait around for a text? Nah. I had to make sure you were alive with my own two eyes.”“You could’ve at least warned me,” I murmured, turning down the hall and heading to the access

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 220: A Reminder Of The Nasty

Clairessa’s POV "Talk about what?" I kept my tone light—bored. It was too easy to play dumb. Too satisfying. He took another step toward me. I backed up until the cold steel of the patio railing met my backside. His eyes tracked the movement, and his lips pressed into a firmer line. "Don’t do this," he said—like he was pleading, but too proud to let it show. "Don’t do what?" I tilted my head. "I have no idea what you’re trying to talk about." He exhaled hard. "I’m talking about last night. About the intimate moment we shared." I arched my spine just slightly, sliding one foot forward to exaggerate the curve of my hips. The slit in the silk dress I wore rode higher on my thighs. I made sure of it. I blinked slowly. “Last night?” He stared. Waiting. I shrugged. “Can’t say I remember much.” A bold lie. Every damn second of it was burned into me. My thighs still ached. My lips still tingled from what I did to him. But watching that muscle in his jaw flex, watching his patience
