Beta Sabrina's POV.
'I shall be gone for just a couple of days', Alpha Diana said. 'As soon as I make contact with him and come up with a way to help him, I shall come right back', 'A couple of days, huh?' I said. 'Recall that the Pack is dependent on you!' I advised. 'Have I not left you for a longer period to manage the pack in my absence in the past?' she asked. 'Yes, but I have a premonition concerning this particular trip', I replied. I don't know why but I keep feeling that her trip to find this person was going to affect us all in some way. I could only pray that the effect be a good one. 'Oh, stop making a fuss about nothing', she replied, and I knew it was her way of trying to dispel my fears. 'Except for you, no one else knows my true face. So, there's no way an attack can be staged against me, if I am perceived to be a nobody, right?' I stared at her. I admired Diana greatly and knew she spoke the truth but I could not stop feeling that this trip was different and was going to change all their lives. Sigh! But once Diana set her heart to do something, she does it, damming the consequences. I believed in her. Was Alpha Diana not the one who had single handedly destroyed their enemy packs and even the rogues when they had attacked the Twilight Pack. She had always appeared with a mask on and was known as the masked Alpha. She was feared and much revered and because of her ability to protect her Pack effortlessly, no one had thought to defy her or make her unmask. She had always said she would reveal herself one day to her subjects but it was not time yet. Now she was going away, what if someone discovered her identity? 'Right!' Sabrina replied, in response to Diana's question. 'But at least let me send some warriors with you', she suggested. 'Remember I am going unmasked, like any ordinary werewolf', Alpha Diana pointed out. 'Sending warriors with me will only be revealing my identity to them and putting them at risk', she concluded taking her short dagger and hiding it in her plain dress, ready to make her way out. 'Put on this cloak, you can discard it when you are far away from the Pack', I advised and Diana smiled. After she left, I tried to shake the feeling I was having concerning the trip but I couldn't. I decided to go about keeping myself busy with pack affairs. As I worked, arranging files and completing the tasks lined up for me, I recalled how I met Alpha Diana. She had been coming back from Blue Creek pack, where she had gone to pay her boyfriend a Surprise visit. Thought at that time I hadn't known that. I was about to be gsmg raoed by some young wolves, the leader being Marcus, the son of the gamma of The Twilight Pack. He was always too Arrogant, thinking that he was better than everyone else. Marcus had asked to hugged me. I knew that he had some unpleasant designs for me. He had a reputation among the girls in the pack. I wasn't going to be one of the girls he 'spoilt'. He took my rejection of his advances badly. 'Who do you think you are?' he howled. 'You don't get to reject me. That is my line. You just insulted me and I shall make you pay dearly for that'. he threatened. I hadn't taken the threat seriously, thinking it was the ratings of an enraged wolf whose pride had been bruised. No one had dared to refuse him before. Well, that was until I was ambushed by him and some of his friends on my way back from the brook nearby. I knew then that he wanted to teach me a lesson for rejecting him as well as gain his respect back. His friends must have been mocking him about it and he didn't want to ruin his reputation as a playboy wolf. They tore at my clothes. 'Let go of me', I screamed but all my efforts went unheeded. 'Unhand me right now, or I shall report you to the Alpha'! ' But that hot them laughing mockingly. ' You will not be given the time of day. Just calm down and accept your fate. Since you might still be a bit underage, if you cooperate we might go gentle on you. But if not, who cares if you lie dead after we are done with you!' he yelled. I knew then that only the Goddess could save me. Though I kept shouting in panic ' Get your filthy hands off of me', I knew it was hopeless. Until... 'By the authority of the Alpha of the Twilight Pack, I. Command you unhand her right now! ' a voice said. Everywhere became still as we all looked towards the sound of the voice and that was when I saw my savior. 'Who are you?' one if the boys asked. 'And how dare you interrupt us?' 'It is okay.. She is the daughter of the Aloha', Marcus answered. 'You are sure you are not mistaken?' the boy asked. 'I know she rarely comes out but if she is really the daughter of the Alpha, why would she be in the attire fit only for maids?' 'Shut up!' Marcus snaoed. 'My father is the gamna okay, and I have been oportuned to see her before. I am not mistaken. This is really Princess Diana'. 'Now you know, Unhsnd the girl immedistely' she ordered them. 'You should be ashamed that all four of you were bullying such a fragile wolf. Couldn't you pick some one your size?' she asked, eyes blazing and I wondered how she got so furious on my account. 'You are cowards and if you try to harm her again, you shall have me to answer to'. Marcus was furious that his game had been interrupted and he had been threatened into the bargain.. 'Thank you so much, Princess', I replied, curtesing. 'If you hadn't come the time you did, I don't know what would have happened', I whispered, still very shaken. 'It's okay', she replied. I believe we both know what would have happened but thank the Goddess that it didn't! So, stop indulging in self pity and give me a smile'. I smiled, trying to be brave but I knew the smile was a shaky one. But she seemed satisfied and that was what mattered. 'What's your name?' she asked. 'Sabrina. Sabrina Fox', I replied. 'I am Diana Miller', she replied. 'Are you really the princess' I asked timidly. I had heard how puffed up and arrogant, those in the upper class were. How they looked down on others they felt were beneath them on the social ladder but this one seemed different. 'I am indeed but I am an introvert. I rarely come out or appear at social gatherings and that's why a lot of people don't know me and can't identify me even when I stand before them', she shrugged. I nodded, that sure explains it. 'Come let's get you home. Those jerks are never going to bother you, ever again!' she promised. I didn't tell her but I knew I still had jump the hurdle await me at home. But with her, I felt stronger... That was how we met and how our friendship started.
