As he reached the bottom of the stairs, Niklaus's gaze swept the room, taking in the gathering of everyone. They were all there, smiling and watching him, but he had no idea why. Lucas, Sam, Brent Kie his security team Dr. Brooks, and others were still coming in, Niklaus knew that something was up.
His eyes narrowed slightly, his instincts telling him that this gathering was more than just a social call. He wasn't one for surprises, and he liked to keep his personal life private. But, for the sake of his relationships with everyone, he would play along.
"Very well," Niklaus said, his voice even but with a hint of reserve. "I'll wait and see what this fuss is about. But please, make it quick. I have a lot on my plate, and I'd like to spend some quality time with my Queen when she wakes up."
Dr. Brooks nodded, her grin still plastered on her face. "Don't worry, Niklaus. I hope this won't take long. And trust me, it's worth it."
